Re: Crackles on recorded tracks
Audio to buffer is one thing I'd like to experiment with, but I am not sure what settings to start with. It's set to the default right now and I'm not sure if I should be bumping the number up or down. A little help there would be great. The obvious answer would be to increase it, but it may be con...

Re: Label question
Yet another method if you don't want to remember to enable Sync-Lock is to include the label track in the selection (hold SHIFT then press DOWN arrow). This works except for inserting or generating audio.

Re: how to separate streaming audio in two
I am using windows 7 with Audacity 2.0.5 and recorded 2 hours of streaming audio. Now I want to separate this into 2 or 3 audio projects based on type of music. How do I do this. If you saved an Audacity project, open the AUP file rather than import the MP3 again. MP3 is lossy so you threw quality ...

Re: Crackles on recorded tracks
I don't think you have skips. Have you tried adjusting "Audio to buffer" in Recording Preferences? Have you tried a different host in Device Toolbar? Have you tried 44100 Hz project rate and setting Audigy to 44100 Hz? Also please be careful with Windows XP. Microsoft are no longer officia...

Re: Cannot see line-in or stereo mix
If you turn off "Listen to this device" and make Line-in default in Windows Sound, does Windows Sound Recorder record the Line-in? Yes, that worked when I tried it before. It could be that Sound Recorder is using Windows WASAPI for that recording. WASAPI is only available in released vers...

Re: mp3 music file volume modification
Did you consider using Sound Check in Playback Preferences as per Koz's image, or reading the link I posted http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2425?semperfi57 wrote:Perhaps, I'm not doing something right?

Re: Can't dispose of click sounds
Click Removal does ameliorate the clicks on your sample if you reduce the Threshold.
You may get better results with click removal in other software but you have a badly damaged recording that you will not remove the clicks from entirely without damaging the voices.

Re: Recording audio from sound card
Occasionally I want to record sound (spoken word or music) that internet sends into my computer and which is audible from the sound card. I use Audacity 2.05. We don't make a "2.05" version so the first step is to uninstall "2.05" then install the official 2.0.5 version from htt...

Re: I can't open Audacity 2.0.5
Uninstall the version of Audacity you have then download 2.0.5 from us: http://audacityteam.org/download/ . If the problem persists, do a complete overnight virus scan. If your machine is free of viruses, it could be some security application that is actually causing the problem because it thinks Au...
