I am not keen to propound that the "Audacity" folder in the DMG should carry a version number. No other apps or app folders on my Mac have a version number, so having such could upset Mac purists.

I got it to work. I installed the zip file and not the exe file. Not sure what was different, but it brought me to a screen about the VSTs and I took the defaults. This had not come up before.
