Re: Pops and clicks in playback during editing
I moved this to a new topic. You do not have the same machine as the other person whose topic you joined, and that topic turned out to be a playback issue on the computer. I use Audacity 2.05 on Ubuntu Studio 14.04. You mean "2.0.5". After a while of editing (that could be somewhere betwee...

Re: 2.0.5 Windows Recording Issue
Moved to the correct Windows board. By the screenshot, you are on Windows 8, is that correct? Please give us more information to go on, because we can't see your setup. Exactly what equipment are you recording with and how is it connected to the computer? Give us make and model numbers. If it's a US...

Have you tried Noise Gate ?alphanovember wrote:Truncate Silence removes parts below a specified dB, but is there anything that instead just generates silence for these parts?
See how to install Nyquist Plug-ins .

Re: Consolidating fragments from several files
How do I consolidate short fragments from several different large AUP files into one? While I have two small fragments available now, the rest will arrive later. Which suggests archiving these fragments for later consolidation. I'd like to avoid consolidating all the associated Data folders into a ...

Re: Setting the Save Project Default file location
The Save Project directory is actually a Windows Registry setting and cannot currently be set in audacity.cfg. See http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=177450#p177450 and on to the end of that topic. You "should" be able to force the directory by preloading the Registry entry with...

Re: setting audacity as external audio editor in windows 8
I just started using my new computer with windows 8 and Sony Movie Studio 13 and it will not give me the option to choose preferences and audio editor? We don't make Movie Studio so cannot tell you how to use it. You may look in the Vegas manual or ask here: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/foru...

Re: Installing Plugins
My OS is Windows 8.1 (64bit) Audacity v2.0.5. I am trying to install the Queen Mary Vamp Plugins. I have followed the instructions shown here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html On restart, Audacity will present a dialog to load the plugins and it appears to wor...

Re: Error: not well-formed (invalid token) at line 765
I'm using version 2.0.5. I obtained the .exe installer. My computer locked up while recording a sermon at church. Was it a USB recording device? That could mean you are connecting it to a USB hub instead of to an empty USB port on the computer, and/or your Audacity project rate is too high and/or y...

Re: Trouble installing a plug-in for pseudo-stereo
If I may ask why does Audacity ask me to 'save changes' when all I have done is played a file and not made any changes to it? Seems a bit odd but there must be a good reason for it. Because everything Audacity does is in a "project". You have made changes to a project by importing a file ...

Re: Installation - Not Found
What exactly are you trying to do that produces that error? You should not need to use the terminal to install Audacity, however Linux Mint 15 "Olivia" has been obsolete since January. This may be why the files you list are not available. I suggest you upgrade to the current Linux Mint 17....
