Re: Measuring frequency value/range
Hover over the vertical scale at about the same height as the upper red line then drag down as far as the lower red line. Release the mouse then you should be zoomed into that vertical area and you can read the frequency values more accurately. We quite often get asked for a cursor read out of frequ...

Re: The idiot strikes again
So I've moved on to attempting to record some messages from my iPhone. I purchased the cable, seem to have it correct connected to my PC (into the microphone, not the headphone, although I've tried both just to be certain), and yet again I'm not making a connection. I hit record on Audacity, and pl...

Re: error whilst opening sound device" message
Has it ever worked? Open /Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup and ensure on the Input tab that UCA is set to a 2 ch 44100 Hz choice. Disconnect and reconnect the UCA202. Connect to an empty USB port, not to a USB hub. Then restart Audacity. Change the USB cable and/or restart the Mac if necessar...

Re: Problems recording sound of computer via Audacity.
Steve- it is an .ARF file Gale- I've tried the way you suggested before posting the question The problem with that was that when I saved it as an mp4 file the audio quality reduced dramatically. That’s the reason I'm looking for an alternative way of capturing the sound directly to audacity. Any cr...

Re: Adding Tags to WAV recordings
I have used Audacity to convert my cassettes to Wave Sound (.wav). However Windows Media Player is not able to arrange and display these albums because WAV does not have/use tags. So having tried to find a solution on the internet it seems that i need to convert WAV to FLAC ; then use mp3tag to add...

Re: error no element found at line 1
The song was not finished. Is exporting a wav file a common way to avoid the error I received? The recording step was finished, otherwise you could not have quit Audacity. WAV backups at each stage of a complex project are always a good idea. WAV is a unitary file format. Audacity Projects are a co...

Re: CD track sections
I have been unsuccessful in trying to divide the CD into (using the player's nomenclature) "tracks", so that individual pieces can be accessed mmediately. I have added labels at the relevant points, but after export either as .mp3 or .wav there is no sign of the track number options when ...

Re: error no element found at line 1
2.0.3 is outdated now. I suggest you update to 2.0.5 http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . It is best to export a WAV file as soon as you complete recording, even if you also want to save an Audacity project. Please attach the AUP file so we can look at it. Please see http://forum.audacityteam....

Re: Problems recording sound of computer via Audacity.
I’m having problems of distortion and choppy sound while recording my computer sound in Audacity. What am I doing wrong? I have win 7, the default recording is “stereo mix”. Version 2.0.5 In Audacity the only way I can record the sound is if I choose: Audio host- Windows WASAPI Speakers- (Realtek H...
