Re: LOST RECORDING
We had a long discussion before with a couple of people who closed projects without saving by mistake. The upshot was that Audacity would have to handle this itself if it was going to handle it at all, for example by having a setting that made Audacity always reopen with whatever work it closed last...

Re: Audacity & Mavericks
Does Audacity work with Mavericks? I currently have a Mac Book Pro, running Apple OS 10.7.5 and my Audacity 2.0.5 works great! I use a sennheiser 416 and an M-audio Mini into my USB port. I record sound files and convert them to mp3's and send them out. Perfect! Good bye Pro Tools and their $$$$$$ ...

Re: LOST RECORDING
How did both files get corrupted in exactly the same fashion? Unfortunately we still don't know what version of Audacity you are using, but in case you are using an obsolete version, the current version is 2.0.5: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . AUTOSAVE files are created every time you p...

Re: Looking for Temporary Files in Mac to Recover Lost Proje
While working on Audacity, the program started to become unresponsive and I had to force quit out of the program. I did not save the project I was working on (a music mash-up for a friend) for Audacity would not let me save it for some reason and gave me the "not writable/disk full" error...

Re: weird playback. help!
Are you playing the recording using the built-in sound card? Try turning off all sound effects and enhancements: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... hancements .

Re: LOST RECORDING
I have restored the .AUTOSAVE files into "C:UsersMeAppDataRoamingAudacityAutoSave" and all of the .AU files into the correct temp directory and then correct subdirs (ex; "C:UsersMeAppDataLocalTempaudacity_tempproject5718e00d0ae000a0s2.au") but, alas, Audacity comlpetely chokes o...

Do you have a mic to connect to StarTech to test if the latter is working?
Have you tried all the USB ports?

Re: Signature
I did not see your signature until I added it just now with the Edit Function. If you press Edit on one of your posts, do you see an option under the message post buttons to use a signature?rabbithutch wrote:Thank you, Gale!

Re: Original File Size
Presumably you have an 8-bit WAV, possibly U-Law or A-Law. So when you choose "Other uncompressed files" ( the first item in the list), click the "Options..." button then choose U-Law, A-Law or whatever encoding the file is. See http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/file_export_di...
