Re: Signature
Thank you, Gale! I did not see your signature until I added it just now with the Edit Function. If you press Edit on one of your posts, do you see an option under the message post buttons to use a signature? Gale Yes, I see the check box but I haven't found a way to type in a signature. As I said, ...

Re: LOST RECORDING
Could there be a case for an option for automatic backups after 'N' number of edits? (Where "N" is a fairly high number by default (so as to not be a nuisance with quick and easy projects), but configurable in preferences.) Perhaps, if it was like an automatic File > Save Project As..., b...

Re: Is There a SEARCH Function for the Manual?
This link should only return results for the Manual for the current release of Audacity: Seems to give the same results as the search query that I gave :? Almost, but not quite. There are a few results from the Development Manual if you don't specify the "o". Remember that we are optimisi...

Re: LOST RECORDING
Ah, sorry, let me clarify. I was only referring to putting AUTOSAVE files in RecycleBin and leaving the AU files in AudacityTemp. I might be missing something but there would never be more than one or two AUTOSAVE files in RecycleBin as they would only be moved there in the rare case where a user c...

Re: LOST RECORDING
Sorry but I feel there are too many issues with using Recycle Bin. Audacity doesn't check its temp folder when launching. It looks for AUTOSAVE files in the AutoSave folder. If the temp folder contains AU files but there is no AUTOSAVE file, Audacity will not recover anything when you restart it. So...

Re: Audacity & Mavericks
Thanks for your reply, Gale. When you say "adjust audio to buffer", I have no idea what that means See http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/recording_preferences.html . It means that if you get playback stutters, adjust the "Audio to buffer" value up or down to see if playback i...

Re: Is There a SEARCH Function for the Manual?
I'll give the suggestions you gave me for searching a try to see if I can find the topics as I need them. Steve gave you a link that would include the development version of the Manual (the work in progress Manual for the next release). That could be confusing because the new version may have chang...

Re: Finding sounds
Thanks for the replies, I hadn't realised there were any as I thought I would get an email saying a response had been posted. As long as you did not unsubscribe from the topic you should get an e-mail advice when a reply is made. Make sure the button at the bottom of the topic says "Unsubscrib...

Re: weird playback. help!
Is it Alesis PhonoLink that you are using? First you said it was muddy reverb and now you say it is hiss. So did you solve the reverb effect? Have you turned the Audacity input slider up? If that slider is too low, you will get a low signal to noise ratio so you will hear hiss when you turn the play...
