Re: NoiseRemoval.cpp

Try this, to demonstrate that attack times are only half as long as they are supposed to be. (The particular numbers are not very important, we just need tone significantly louder than noise.) New project. Generate 2 s of white noise, amplitude .5. View it in Waveform dB. Do Noise removal, Get Nois...

Re: Project Check Read Faulty Sequence Tags

Attached are the images I am getting. OK, I assume because you have not clicked "Continue with repairs in log", you have not yet seen the "orphan block file" messages. Also I download the Build for Alpha but I have no clue how to load this or make it run... :/ Your audio is long...

Re: Not working in iMac mavericks

Thanks Koz for helping Deb. I'm puzzled though why the original adaptor does not pass signal and why what sounds like an 3.5mm extension cable and a USB extension cable make any difference. And is a tape machine being used here to record the conversation as in the advertisement for "Radio Shack...

Re: User Control Option to Subscribe to Threads One Starts

it seems that if you could agree on the information that would be useful most often if associated with a member's data, you could create data elements for it and mandate their entry on sign-up. OS and Audacity version at sign up would be very useful but it would be like mandating spam at sign up un...

Re: Right mouse button menus

The status bar messages must be correct, irrespective. However if we use the same mouse pointer for zoom tool as we do for hover over vertical scale (whichever tool is selected) it does suggest to me that Zoom Tool and hover over vertical scale should be acting the same where there is a comparable ...

Re: Project Check Read Faulty Sequence Tags

Was that the complete log? The log would be filled with warnings about "orphan block files" if you had gone over the 2^31 samples limit. What does the audio look like - is it the correct length but completely silenced? You have probably exceeded the maximum recording duration unfortunately...

Re: User Control Option to Subscribe to Threads One Starts

It falls short of giving Audacity version information, but the advice for all is "use the current version" (for Linux "currently available"). Yes but many do not use the current version (at least until pointed out to them that it's the cause of the problem). Knowing the exact Au...

Re: User Control Option to Subscribe to Threads One Starts

The issue seems to be, what is the best/safest way for users to post their Audacity version, OS and computer specs. A simple and safe way would be to use the "Avatars" feature. That would require that we have a bunch of small image files, one for each supported OS. The user could then sel...

Re: Is There a SEARCH Function for the Manual?

I have Snap To enabled. In further work today, I think I might have discovered the problem with the Cut function. If I figured it out correctly, you cannot Cut when an entire track is selected but only when a portion of a track is selected. I think I had selected the entire track then selected a se...
