Re: Audacity does not recognize my USB connection
The cassette device works fine since sound comes out when I connect it to a speaker, but my computer does not recognize the connected device containing the cassette. Audacity cannot see the device if Windows doesn't. Exit Audacity Unplug all other USB devices, then switch off and disconnect the EZC...

Re: cannot record - devices listbox empty Win7
I see three disconnected devices in the recording tab. I activated "show deactivated devices" (right click) but no additional devices were shown. Using Windows in English, you have to show "disconnected" and "disabled" devices. If you see no devices in Windows "So...

Re: error message "Invalid sample rate"
I am met with an error message that says "Invalid Sample Rate" and "The project sample rate (44100) and bit rate (144 kbps) combination is not supported by the MP3 file format. You may resample to one of the rates below" and then it gives a default sample rate of 24000. The MP3 ...

Re: cannot record - devices listbox empty Win7
What source are you trying to record from? (A built-in microphone?, external microphone? line-input?, a USB mic or UDB device?, streaming audio???) Go to the Windows Control Panel and make sure whatever input or device you are using is enabled. In Win7, the easiest way to get to the audio control p...

Re: NoiseRemoval.cpp
Paul, did you follow through with the steps on Windows and see if the tone was excessively reduced? Try half a dozen times at least if you can. Also I've noticed that when Undo fails or sometimes when the tone is reduced, zero bytes TMP files are written to the folder I run Audacity from. This may b...
