Re: Microphone
Thanks, but there is a misunderstanding here. I can record streaming audio, but I am also recording from a microphone that I did not know was built into the laptop. Then don't. Audacity can choose inputs to record from and you have to tell it what input to use. It can't guess what you want. You tel...

Re: Updated De-Clicker and new De-esser for speech
Hi Paul
There seem to be suggestions that the De-Esser is very good. Is the De-Esser also good for music vocals? Does it need more development? Would you want it to be published on the Audacity Wiki if so when?

Re: wxWidgets Build on OSX
Hi, I'm attempting to build Audacity on OSX (10.9.4) using Xcode (5.1.1). As a start I've built wxWidgets (which in itself was not straightforward!). I'm wondering why four different builds of wxWidgets are necessary(see <http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Building_On_Mac#Install_wxWidgets>)? If I w...

Re: AU Files Opening Corrupt
I just updated and that must have been what I did. I uninstalled and reinstalled and now it's working. Uninstall and reinstall of Audacity changes nothing in the Audacity settings. So if you had a particular set of settings when you ran 2.0.5 with the problem, you have those settings after reinstal...

Re: Additional options for 'List of Files' import?
It looked like a feature request about LOF files. That's fine where posted, though I don't understand what is wrong with the offset command for positioning the start of the audio. Offset accepts negative values (which pushes audio behind time zero) if that is needed to correct audio/video synchronis...

Re: AU Files Opening Corrupt
Sorry. My post was sloppy. I was clicking on the .aup files when the problem occurred. Here is a quick screen cast of what I'm doing and seeing. http://www.screencast.com/t/Bwki7XCq Notice that the waveform is there until I push play. I notice you have Audacity 2.0.5 mounted as a device. Is this th...

Re: Getting distortion on audio recording - guitar and vocal
Steve's on holiday now, but there are numerous dropouts in the track which is why it sounds incorrect. See http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#sync and follow all of the links on that page that could be relevant. Visit http://tinyurl.com/qce8jfs to see what driver...

Re: Crackle/Click/Pop throughout playback and WAV export
No crackle on Windows 8.1 for me. Koz is on Mac. Is Windows Update set to do its work automatically? It's possible it might have updated drivers for your sound card for the worse. Have you tried going back to an earlier Restore Point? That is probably the simplest way to cover all the possibilities....

Re: Church choir effect
... Audacity does not have a built-in Chorus effect ... Steve made a multi-voice chorus plugin for Audacity which is here ... http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=191763#p191763 Yes - I'd already linked to it in my previous post. ;) Is it better than Blue Cat? I noticed you have recommende...

Re: How many time Audacity should take to startup?
One thing that might slow Audacity launch is having media players open (not necessarily running). I use a file manager program called xplorer2 which has a built-in media player. I usually have at least six tabs open in xplorer 2, all of which have access to the media player. Also I probably have tab...
