You mean you used http://www.freesoundrecorder.net/ ? As far as I can tell, that isn't digital and requires an anlogue recording device like stereo mix or wave out to record computer playback.

I went the Recording tab and changed the setting under ALSA Capture From, to: 'Monitor of built in audio analog stereo' As soon as I changed this setting, Audacity immediatel...

Re: Any way to record with Audacity and a usb dac
You can try SoundLeech from http://www.milosoftware.com/en/index.php?body=soundleech.php which is digital. If you open Windows Sounds and Audio Devices and select this "DAC" as the default device in "Sound Playback" then I think SoundLeech should capture sound from the DAC and sa...

Re: IMPROVING ORCHESTRAL MIDI recording
------Finally solved the problem. With my precambrian PC I can´t use the full potential of Audacity so I grabbed the digital signal with Free Sound Recorder in mono mix (stereo mix botches things up). Perfect intonation and brilliant sound. Much hiss noise though, but very much like a good analog r...

Re: Sound Card Reviews
Does the iMic still have a Line-Mic switch? Yes. So it has one up on Startech if you have a Mac with no audio in. My recollection of this thing is of a rotten, low gain Mic-In coupled with a high-distortion Line-In that overloads easily. It's truly a convenient external version of the average lapto...

Re: Any way to organize my effects list? Part 2
For some effects, the manual definition wouldn't be bad. Vst plug-ins in particular tend to be ill-named and have either Vst in Front or the manufacturers name. I'm personally not interested in the fact that it is a Vst-plug-in but rather if it is a limiter or a phaser. See plugins.cfg in the Audac...
