Try Effect > Low Pass Filter... or try a de-esser plug-in like the de-esser from http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=79278#p245549 (Nyquist plug-in) or Lisp (VST plug-in). See here for how to install Nyquist plug-ins: Installing Nyquist Plug-ins - Audacity Wiki . See here for how ...

Re: Audacity Freezing Up
I am using Audacity 2.0.5 on a Windows 8.1 PC, to record. We are recording from a presonus mixer directly into the mic port on the pc. Twice now it has recorded for about 5 min and then starts to freeze, meaning the blue line will scroll but the audio position will pause a couple seconds and then j...

Re: Record command only occasionally works
Thanks. I have things working now. What solved it? It may help other users of your player to know. Where can I find a cheap 3 volt AC adapter for this Encore tape player? I am using it so much I would like to save on batteries. Audacity does not supply your player or accessories for it. If you thin...

Re: Looking for Temporary Files in Mac to Recover Lost Proje
I have tried to reopen Audacity to recover the project again, but it now won't recover the project. I know I forced quit Audacity from the last time I have used it, so I am not sure what happened. I also have not cleaned out any temporary files before trying to recover the project. Sorry, but we ca...

Re: Recording with Audacity.
They are on Skype though I'm just trying to record my own voice and not theirs. Please read http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=74768 . Because of the way Skype manages sound, and leakage in headsets, you may not be able to achieve complete isolation of your own voice in the reco...

I believe you already voted for that, Steve, but it's quite a popular request.steve wrote:New tracks added directly below the current selection, or at the bottom if there is no selection. (1 vote - me)

Re: Help Decoding RAW File
I was able to find this description of the file: Audio Actors are Audio Interchange Files (AIFF) that are interactively played back. Audio actors are 16b @ 44.1 kHz samples compressed @ 3:1. Audio actors are ~300kB. Have you tried seeing if http://troikatronix.com/isadora/about/ will play these fil...

Re: Help Decoding RAW File
I don't think the noise reduction when "packing" the data is a placebo effect, and I do think it is noisier in stereo at half the sample rate and at 16-bit at half the sample rate. Packing? Do you mean companding (a-law/mu-law) or putting bytes into words? I just did what I said, removed ...

Re: Find out the total number of tracks, muted and solo
I think I haven't. I've transferred the topic title and URL to PFR so I can sort it out later, and have archived this.waxcylinder wrote:Gale, have you counted the votes within this thread?

I have captured the votes/behaviours noted here, so I've archived it.waxcylinder wrote:I note that since Gale's last summary post, no voting has been requested.
So just what do we do with this thread? Just archive it?
