Did you build shared libraries of wxGTK?

Did you you build unicode release version of wxGTK and is that the default version? Check at:

Re: Click Record - New Track, but not recording

Sorry but there is no support for obsolete versions of Audacity (see the pink panel at the top of this page). Also Canonical dropped support for Ubuntu 11.04 two years ago. I suggest you update to Ubuntu 14.04 (which gives you a packaged version of Audacity 2.0.5) then install Pulse Audio Volume Con...

Re: Copy-paste from one project to an other

I could (finally) boot Linux (Ubuntu 14.04 - Audacity 2.0.5). But I have some problems: It is more difficult to open several occurrences of Audacity. (You have to go to menu "open" (a project) ... No more double click so convenient !!!:-( ) We open and close projects regularly ... It is a...

Re: Audacity 2.0.6

Does Audacity 2.0.6 operate pretty much the same as the earlier version? I'm comfortable with the fairly basic processes I now use and worry that if the new version is different, I won't be able to figure it out. I'm not particularly computer savvy as you can probably guess. It operates pretty much...

You mean, you just drag on the horizontal scrollbar, nothing else?

Do you have any other computers you could test on?

Re: Need Help With Sound Problem

I got rid of the really distorted ones, but hoping to salvage the ones that only barely touched the "red" sometimes. Have you used Normalize to bring the peaks down to say -6 dB? That may make the problem a little less audible. If the tracks have "flat topped" waveform, they hav...

Re: startup help - microphone not working?

If you want to use the built-in microphone, you have to select it in Audacity's Device Toolbar . If you do not see the built-in microphone in Device Toolbar, this means it is disabled in Windows "Sound". To fix that, follow the instructions at http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer_Toolba...

Re: Need Help With Sound Problem

Some recordings show in Audacity it only one track. I noticed there is a "Stereo to Mono" but could not find the opposite. Is there anyway to separate into stereo tracks? If the track is mono you can't usefully make it "stereo" except by using trickery on it. If it is mono it wi...

Re: Name this forum!

Why "Community Forum" though? To emphasise that this is not intended for Audacity support questions. If people want help using the Audacity software they should ask on the Help forum relevant to their operating system . But that's just confusing IMO, Steve. I thought we agreed that none o...
