Re: 2 questions
I think both issues are bugs in Audacity 2.1.2 which have been fixed for the 2.1.3 release (due out very soon) Yes, so I recommend GlennY tries "Audacity Mac 2.1.3 RC1 - DMG (RC for testing only)" from https://www.fosshub.com/Audacity.html/ . That test build will probably become the new 2...

Re: One side of headphones not functioning if Audacity insta
Audacity 2.1.2 via the .exe installer If the installation of Audacity is the problem, then uninstall it and add Audacity back using the ZIP file. Extract to somewhere in your own user space, not to Program Files. I can't imagine how that would affect the audio on your headphones socket. Do you then...

Re: How to convert CDA to AIFF
Audacity cannot rip CD tracks. Why do you need AIFF on Windows? You can use Windows Media Player to rip to WAV which is also lossless, or you can choose FLAC which is lossless but about half the size. Set it up at Tools > Options > Rip Music tab. If you must rip to AIFF, try TAudioConverter . Gale

Re: Sound Activated Recording Doesn't Work For Me
I recall once upon a time when Sound Activating Recording actually worked, but no matter what threshold I set, or what microphone input I select, during silences I get long stretches of recorded silence... Try installing Audacity from us at http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows and enable th...

Re: Audacity totally broke!
I've recently "upgraded" to Sierra, which has left a lot of my favorite apps in the dust, including my much-loved Audacity. I suffer from the complaints gone into elsewhere here - no plug-ins visible Of course, you could run the xattributes Terminal command mentioned elsewhere: sudo xattr...

Re: System/Program Volume
I just upgraded to Windows 10 and for some reason, when I turn up the system volume, Audacity's volume turns up as well That is meant to happen. The system and Audacity volume sliders are linked to each other. (which makes any bass the song has very distorted). There is no reason that should be the ...

Re: Gsnap/GVST Not Enabling or Showing Up
I assume you meant you got the 64-bit GSnap when you say "34 bit". Audacity requires 32-bit plugins on Windows. Audacity 2.1.2 no longer has a Preference for rescan - a rescan happens when you open Effect > Add / Remove Plug-ins... . You don't need to restart Audacity after enabling a plu...

Re: Audacity won't open in Sierra (10.12.3)
Audacity does not fully support Sierra due to aggressive security changes made by Apple. I would recommend trashing your existing Audacity versions. Open Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder and type: ~/Library/Application Support/ Delete the "audacity" folder. Then try "Audacity Mac 2.1....

i'm, in fact, a computer programmer), but I have my share of fun playing with Audacity and MorphVox. Any tips. Thanks in advance. Re: One side of headphones not functioning if Audacity insta
I am surprised this happens after installing Audacity rather than after running it.
If the headphones connect to the computer with a 1/8 inch plug, I would suspect inappropriate sound device drivers for your built-in audio device.
