Re: 2.0.6 - FFmpeg problems
I'm not sure to what you're referring to, but surely you are aware that you've two Program Files ( Program Files (x86) and Program Files ) on a Windows 64-bit machine. Yes, %PROGRAM FILES% is generic for the appropriate x86 or not. Or are you talking about having the "Program Files" folde...

Re: Feature request for Nyquist interface for schools
Nyquist Workbench fulfils all of those requirements I believe except for line numbers. Currently Workbench must be compiled from source code (as must Audacity unless you happen to compile Workbench the same day as an Audacity release). There are quite a few bugs in Workbench that must be ironed out...

Re: Strange losing of signal
I can spend the day recording several tracks one at a time, one hour long. Twice now, in separate sessions, I come back to observe the recorder showing signal to be recorded in the time line then it flat lines that segment. The recording continues for another 5 seconds, showing a segment recorded t...

Re: stay on top
Windows does not have a built-in way to make a window on top. Have you tried tiling windows side-by-side or vertically? Minimise all windows you don't want to tile, then right-click over empty space in the Taskbar and choose the "Show" or "Tile" option. In Windows 7 (but not Wind...

Re: Can audacity direct-write to a file?
is there a way to make audacity automatically write to a file, like for instance recordpad does. No. Audacity writes the recording's audio data every six seconds or so in small blocks called AU files. At the same interval, it updates its temporary AUP project file for the new AU files. The temporar...

Re: Songs recorded through audacity are quiet compared to ot
The WASAPI recording volume is set internally. You could try Tutorial - Recording Computer Playback on Windows to see if you can enable stereo mix or similar for your sound card. You could burn the songs to CD then rip the CD, which would get the audio off the CD exactly as it is. However if it's no...

Re: Sound quality
Is it a USB turntable? What version of Windows is it?
On Vista and later you may need to set Windows to stereo for the turntable http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... #rinstereo .

Re: noise removing on top of audio
Have you tried increasing the Sensitivity slider in Noise Removal? If some of the original noise is still there where the audio is, turning that slider up a little should help, but don't take it to the maximum. If some of the noise is tinkly/honky sounds that were not on the voice before noise remov...

Re: 2.0.6 - FFmpeg problems
You seem to have a very strange system. I would not have %PROGRAM FILES% from multiple drives in the PATH on any given operating system instance. If it's a conflict between different version of FFmpeg you could try removing the one you have on "R:Program Files (x86)ffmpeg-win-2.2.2" and al...
