Re: Can't record anything through MOTU Ultralite

Windows isn't recognising MOTU in the Windows Sound Control Panel. I've reinstalled the drivers but it doesn't seem to work. Have you rebooted the computer? I recommend a full shut down using the WIN + X menu. Have you looked in the product manual ( http://cdn-data.motu.com/manuals/firewire-usb-aud...

There is another method using [ and ] , which avoids the navigation into Selection Toolbar:

Re: 2.0.6 Crashing regularly

Sorry I did not include more details. I've attached the Mac log. The log is for 2.0.5. Does Audacity launch at all? If yes, what actions do you take in Audacity that precipitate the hang? Does right-click or CONTROL-click over Audacity.app > Get Info and enabling the checkbox "Prevent App Nap&...

Re: 2.0.6 Crashing regularly

That looks normal except for the orphan blocks. I think that is normal, including the orphan blocks. They are probably files for Undo/Redo which were not deleted because Audacity did not quit properly. Haelen, to begin with - are you sure you installed Audacity properly? See Installation: Do NOT ru...

Re: Martin Eastwood duet plugin

thanks for that; its not for performing, just to do some home recording. As Doug said, Audacity does not yet run effects on live recordings. If you must try that VST plug-in, do so, but it is unlikely to work in Audacity because it is expecting to operate on live input. To pitch-correct your voice ...

Re: Recording comes out in a different key

Also see our FAQ about this here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#sync . The distortion could also be caused by the problem that is causing the pitch change. The pitch change is almost always due to some track or setting being at a different sample rate than a...

Re: Input is totally distorted

Check Windows Control Panel and make sure Microphone Boost is NOT enabled. (Sometimes Windows thinks any USB audio device is a USB mic.) Doug, as I said before, I really think that is misinformation. USB playback devices like a USB cassette player or USB turntable will not normally have a boost con...

Yes or more typically you would get small dropouts in the recording.

I've mentioned numerous things you can check as to the source of the problem.

Re: Error not well-formed (invalid token) at line 1275

Hi! I was recording a track, and for some reason, my computer was restarted. When I opened Audacity again, said that the project can be recovered automatically. But when I press "restore" I suffer that error. "Error not well-formed (invalid token) at line 1275" Any solution to r...

Re: Strange losing of signal

You may want to do a SMART check on your hard drive.

If you are using a network drive for your Audacity temporary folder, don't. Network drives are too slow.
