Re: Migration from Win 7 to Win 8 problem

Double-click the task in Task Scheduler to look at the task properties. Are you running with highest privileges as the correct user? Is Win 8 a 64-bit computer and was Win 7 32-bit? If so, you need to change the path to Audacity to Program Files (x86). Have you posted the task's XML file on the Wind...

Re: Need to monitor recording with Headphones

It's also good to have version of Windows and version of Audacity (all three numbers). Please see the pink panel at the top of this page. To begin with, open Device Toolbar . Select the headphones for playback and the USB mic for recording. To hear yourself you need to enable Transport > Software Pl...

Re: How to improve sound quality and decrease file size?

* Be sure you are using the latest version of LAME for MP3 encoding, which is the best MP3 encoder out there Just to be clear, the lame_enc.dll's on that page will not work with Audacity: 08:41:31: Error: Couldn't find symbol 'get_lame_version' in a dynamic library (error 127: the specified procedu...

Re: How to improve sound quality and decrease file size?

I tried mp3splt-gtk and didn't see how to use it to splice two or more files together. I played with it and read about it. It appears to be for splitting larger files into smaller files. The documentation is written above my head. Is there another choice available for free that you know of? Yes. Th...

Re: A view Questions to Audacity

Hi, Alex. 1. Is it possible to extract a track temporary and put it into another wave editor like Goldwave? In Sonar or Reaper I can take a track and put it into Goldwave to add other FX, that are not included or more simple to handle. It could be good for fast editing of a track, without opening se...

Try the attached. The problem appears to be as I described - there was a redundant line with NULL's and </project> at the end of it. I deleted that line.

Re: 2.0.6 Crashing regularly

The 2.0.6 log says the same thing, that Audacity is sending lots of wakeup calls. So is this not really a regular problem? Does it happen when you are doing an export of a long file and you switch focus to another app while you are waiting? If the problem persists I suggest you post the report for t...

Re: not recording anything

If you looked at the aforementioned podcastudio you would see there is only one usb connection to the computer which both playback and recording is supposed to go through. Maybe none of you looked at the kit, and then just started shooting me solutions? We don't know what kit you have unless you ar...
