Re: Recording recovery fail
Please do not use "ect" to shorten the details - all the detail is important. In particular, what version of Audacity do you have (all three numbers from Help > About Audacity...)? What were you doing when there was a crash - was it saving a project or exporting an audio file like WAV or M...

Re: Warning - Orphan Block File(s) Audacity 2.0.6
Students are going to create a project in Audacity and work on it. I want them to save their project proprely to be able to come back another day to work on it, on a different computer. What would you suggest me as a procedure to save their project? I usually work from the desktop, saving my projec...

Re: Audacity crash recording live audio second track
Also try setting the buffer higher in Recording Preferences. Have you tried a more lightweight distribution? Crunchbang says it is nimble but it clearly is not optimised for low powered machines. Experience can vary quite a lot on eeePC's. Did it come with Crunchbang? http://www.everydaylinuxuser.co...

Re: Small files
I cannot find any options regarding compression when I export an mp3. Click the button that says "Options..." when you select "MP3 Files" in the export window. Also, I just realized that on my new laptop, I've downloaded version 2.0.6. The PC has 2.0.5. I definitely don't want t...

Re: adjudting sound levels for all .wav files
OK, it's working with the static build. I was a bit surprised to see a license notification saying some rights reserved in what I thought was GPL software. I see now that the VST plug-in is licensed under MIT/X11 License. What rights are reserved? Is it OK to mix and match licenses like this? I'm n...

Re: 2.0.6 bug (windows)
The exact steps are... 1 - open audacity (obviously) 2 - file, import audio, select a file. (I'm using a mp4 video file.) 3 - I run Compressor effect on the entire track 4 - file, export audio, using default name and directory. type is m4a (aac) files (ffmpeg). Advanced mixing I leave alone (2 chan...

Re: built fails for rev 13400+
The WXWidgets are another matter. You will have to rebuild wxWidgets (2.8.12 is safer) using VS2013. Then make the five necessary Widgets DLL's from that rebuild available to Audacity. If you have not noticed yet, you have to comment or remove the following from wxWidgets/src/msw/window.cpp in orde...

Re: Wav file is static
It seems unlikely - that has a fixed minimum 48 kbps bit rate and I doubt Media Player would play it.Gunnar wrote:Could be the ATRAC3plus format, a format use primarily on "MiniDisc".
