Re: muddled/staticy recordings
I have a Gateway PC with Windows 8.1. I just did a clean reinstall of all software from a Win 8.0 base image, including upgrade to 8.1 and install all patches. (That took considerable time, but it had to be done to get a "fresh start.") I also downloaded and installed the latest Audacity ...

Re: Boxy playback
I have 2.0.6 on Win 8.1 Previous version of Audacity had great playback from recording. It was hard to tell from the original source. The new version has a "boxy" artificial sound. What is causing that? No. It is something you changed or something specific to your computer or audio device...

That should not happen. You can try the link "Delete all board cookies" at the bottom of any page if strange things happen.Emerogork2 wrote:I don't know about anyone else but I click on my name I get logged out.

Re: After extensive search, I have to post this here...
I cannot find a location to ask questions about this forum. The board I have moved this to is the best place to ask such questions. When your post arrives on the Forum at once, without having to wait for an e-mail to say the post has been approved, then you are a standard "registered user"...

Re: Auto Duck?
I would envisage it as an Examples page for that effect in the Manual. I was thinking more of a general description about "ducking" and "auto-ducking", what they are, why they are used, how it is done (not software specific - often it is done in hardware). I see, thanks. Is ther...

Re: Echo/double recording effect when pasting into existing
A minor problem that does remain is that the track pasted into the main track often 'overlaps' into the main track, either losing its first couple of seconds or cutting the last second or two of the preceding section of the main track. That should not happen. Single-click at the point where you wan...

The Square Wave choice in Generate > Tone works at half the sample rate in terms of being audible, though the waveform looks untypical of a square wave.DVDdoug wrote:If you generate a cosine wave at half the sample rate it, will work!

@Doug, I changed your link to point to the equivalent article in the current Manual, rather than the obsolete 1.2 Manual. Thanks!

Re: Auto Duck?
Regarding the documentation, I think that Auto Duck is quite a tricky effect (it's the only effect that requires two tracks). Perhaps it would be useful if we had a step-by-step example of its usage in the wiki, and a link in the manual to that example. (as always, it's a matter of finding the time...

I still don't know if you are talking about the Manual or a WAV file for CD, but please try the information or Tutorial above and let us know full details of any specific problems you have.keithp59 wrote:Saving file and naming a problem.
