Re: generating 500hz tone at 1000 hz sample rate doesn't wor

Shouldn't we have a little bit more than the current wave-forms? For example: - Saw-tooth, no alias - Triangle (+ no alias) - Buzz (summation of cosines up to Nyquist, gives single impulses at <=1 Hz) optionally: - square waves with other duty factors, not only 50 %. - sine bursts OK, I made a note...

Re: Minidisc to PC problem

Hello, are you saying that I can no longer transfer from minidisc to laptop windows7 using Audacity?? I moved this to the Windows board for you. What Koz is saying is that if you only have one audio input, it isn't a proper line-level stereo input - it's a mic input that might be able to accept lin...

Re: Yosemite

I'm hearing that the new version 2.0.6 is not compatible with Yosemite. Is this correct? Correct. Audacity support ends at OS X 10.9.x. To be clear, if I stick with the previous Audacity version and upgrade to Yosemite, will I be alright? Your risk. There is no official support for Yosemite. We bel...

Re: Audacity 2x not working well on 12 year old PC

If I boot the PC up without running Hydrogen, or if I uninstall Hydrogen, Audacity will work fine, however as soon as I load Hydrogen (even after a reinstall), it will get very slow and unresponsive, even after I exit Hydrogen. The last bit is what confuses me most, since there is no process for th...

Re: muddled/staticy recordings

If you reinstalled Audacity without enabling "Reset Preferences", the reinstallation would not change your Audacity settings. The computer has been built from scorched-earth conditions, so effectively, there is no old install. I'm not 100% clear about that. If Windows was restored from a ...

Re: Playing Audacity mp3s on android

If you can see the exported MP3 file on your computer that is the end of Audacity's responsibility. I suggest you ask on the forums for your particular phone and/or Android forums.

Re: Assistance with hiss diagnosis

When you are recording Audacity could be also be simultaneously recording from other devices as well as the USB microphone , (e.g. "line in"). Go to Windows recording devices and disable all other recording devices , as they could be contributing hiss noise to your recording. [ right mous...
