Re: generating 500hz tone at 1000 hz sample rate doesn't wor
By the way, shouldn't we have a little bit more than the current wave-forms? There is a plug-in here that offers a wider range of waveforms: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=109386#p109386 and one here with a range of "no alias" waveforms: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewto...
Re: Yosemite
I don't use any "Apple Units" in my audio recordings that I know of. I use Audacity quite a bit when recording my dj sessions from vinyl records, or simply digitizing a track from a vinyl record to make a mp3. Will I be ok to that to do if I upgrade to Yosemite? Digitizing vinyl isn't rea...

Re: Stereo Vocal Remover
Did you read http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 28&t=77378 and try the "2D stereo toolkit" and example files in that post?

Re: Manually stretching a clip
Dragging a clip to change tempo is a "feature request". Effect > Change Tempo... has a length control, but the results it gives are not length-accurate. For length accuracy you should use Effect > Sliding Time Scale / Pitch Shift... .

Re: Always loop?
It already does continue to loop in 2.0.5 if you start loop play then click or drag in the Timeline. It may not look like it if you are clicking at a point, because loop without a selection always plays the entire track. That "continuing to loop" is actually a bug because it assumes you w...

Re: Assistance with hiss diagnosis
I'm thinking you mean I should mute any other devices that are listed in the Sound > Playback tab, is that correct? Yes, if there are any other devices. Lower end computers probably won't have that feature, so the Playback tab will only have a volume slider for the speakers and/or headphones. But i...

Re: M-audio fast track problem
Where and how are you trying to listen? Do you have headphones plugged into Fast Track?
Try Generate > Tone > OK in Audacity. Can you hear that in Fast Track?
If the headphones have a volume control, turn it up. Turn up the headphone output knob on the Fast Track.

Re: Auto Duck?
Among the "other possible functions" that I wonder about is the ability to duck the input from more than one line. For example, I have a 12 track project with 3, potentially 4 recorded sound effects that I want to trigger "ducks" at different times. I assume I can gather all the...
