Re: Exported WAV does not work properly in Media Player

Drag the exported file back into Audacity. Is it only two seconds long? If so you may have a selection in the waveform and only did File > Export Selected Audio... . Just do File > Export Audio... .

Re: 2 Questions from Newbie

I don't see that at all. I would have answered almost exactly as Doug did. but you do agree that Audacity does not edit audio files (which was implied by the original question) Absolutely, Doug missed that detail in the second question. you do agree that there is an important difference when alias ...

Re: make hotkeys accessible to the background

In my opinion, Audacity should only have one global key combination. Any hotkey after that is passed to Audacity. For instance: - You press e.g. Windows-a and Audacity gets ready. - You press r and recording starts. Screen readers work like this. If you want to pass a key to the underlying operatin...

Re: Version 2.0.6 - Restoring Cuts

I installed 2.0.6 again so I could give you an exact description of the problem as I currently am editing. The total WAV track time is 11:29:787. I made a cut from 5:41:583 to 9:24:400. I then went back about five seconds so I could hear if it was to my liking. It was slightly off so I selected &qu...

Re: make hotkeys accessible to the background

We could look at this issue another way. The reason that people want to run Audacity alongside Fraps is because Fraps does not have all of the audio recording features that they want - so shouldn't that be a feature request for Fraps rather than for Audacity? As far as I know, Fraps can record the ...

Re: How do I raise input levels or increase waveform?

The audio on the various sites (e.g. YouTube) are always set to maximum, and it's plenty loud when listening to it normally. Just not very in Audacity during record mode. Exactly how are you recording the sites? Normally one would use Soundflower - see Tutorial - Recording Computer Playback on Mac ...

Re: MBox2 Mini & Audacity

Isn't this the interface that's "married" to ProTools and Avid? Yes. Audacity has no official support for Mbox. It's best to use ProTools. If you must use Audacity, I suggest you go to the Avid site and make sure you have any applicable drivers that are necessary to use Mbox with software...

Re: Can't save MP3's

And if you need the dot in the file name, just add ".mp3" (without the quotes) to the end of the file name before you export the MP3.

Re: make hotkeys accessible to the background

To avoid getting annihilated by the enemy, you just need to plan in advance so that your Audacity record key that works in all apps isn't used in any of those apps. That will be fun, given that so many key combinations that are not commonly used in games are used by Fraps. Fraps appears to allow yo...
