Re: Using mixer with new laptop
According to the Instruction manual for AC-1 If the input signal level is too high the indicator LED will change from Green to Red, to set the correct level rotate the VR anticlockwise until the indicator LED reverts back to Green Set the switch on the AC1 to line. If the AC1 does actually work, you...

Re: Assistance with hiss diagnosis
I'm thinking you mean I should mute any other devices that are listed in the Sound > Playback tab, is that correct? Yes, if there are any other devices. Lower end computers probably won't have that feature, so the Playback tab will only have a volume slider for the speakers and/or headphones. But i...

Re: Exported WAV does not work properly in Media Player
Coming back just now, I read your post and double checked the size of the files by simply opening one of the saved WAVs in Media Player. And it worked properly! :o So what were you doing before when you did not check the file size? WMP 11 has a bug that it can't burn WAV to CD until you put the WAV...

Re: Display label count
In that case, perhaps it would be better to have small icons rather than the text "point labels", "region labels", "labels behind zero", and have the text as tooltips (which if I recall, don't work on the track info panel) Perhaps it would be acceptable to abbreviate P...

Re: Display label count
I see no need for the font size for the label to affect the font size of the label info. Monitor resolutions of 2560x1600 & 5120×2890 are out there and 1920x1080 is pretty much the norm for desktop monitors and most laptops now. The Audacity Developers have seen fit to give the user control of ...

Re: Display label count
I thought it might increase probability of acceptance (and I don't especially want to see it always on myself). But if most want it always on that's OK by me.steve wrote:Gale Andrews wrote:Why not have it on permanently? We don't switch of the audio track info.

Re: make hotkeys accessible to the background
In my opinion, Audacity should only have one global key combination. Any hotkey after that is passed to Audacity. For instance: - You press e.g. Windows-a and Audacity gets ready. - You press r and recording starts. Screen readers work like this. If you want to pass a key to the underlying operatin...

Re: Version 2.0.6 - Restoring Cuts
"Portable Settings" folder I appear to have independent settings and preferences without such a folder. Koz I don't think so, unless some settings were in one version and not another. I'm going to ask you where is that written other than right here, right now? http://manual.audacityteam.o...

To my ears the processing introduces (or exposes) distortion in the last half.
But I have no clue what Zameen wants.

Re: Exporting Music files
LAME is only for exporting MP3. Just, suddenly I get a message that the file has an extension "wav." and it may not work on all applications. No, if that was a message in Audacity it said "Normally these files end in ".wav" and some programs will not open files with non-stan...
