Re: need to import metadata from .wav files

Now I import a file for the first time, thereby creating a project, using the FFmpeg input filter. After removing the track, I import the same file again using the .WAV, AIFF filter, which does not blank out metadata items which it does not understand (as does FFmpeg) but rather leaves them as they...

Re: Importing .au type file as raw, saturation

Is this AUP file you saved listed in File > Open Recent? That would open the project or at least give you the path where you saved it in the first place. What happens if you search the computer for all AU files? You should not save projects in the Audacity temp folder. Save them to a working drive t...

Re: Export Creates MP3 with only one layer of audio??

Make sure you use File > Export Audio... and not File > Export Selected Audio... .

All muted tracks are ignored for export, so try Tracks > Unmute All Tracks.

Re: Recording input source

I am using Audacity 2.0.1 on Windows 7. 2.0.1 is obsolete now so unless you have a reason to use that version I suggest you update to 2.0.6 here http://audacityteam.org/download/ . How do I select the input source? I want to use the USB - midi connection to record from my Synthesizer. But the softw...

Re: HOW TO EXPORT (if possible) INTO AUP FORMAT

You would have to File > New, copy and paste a selection into the new window, then save that new window as a project.

Re: Improved seeking

As I understand it there are two complaints. During playback, there is no way to move the editing cursor and/or expand or contract arbitrary selections using the keyboard. When not playing, there is no way to nudge the editing cursor by a fixed amount irrespective of zoom level. So I would say that...

Re: Improved seeking

but you still can't seek beyond the right edge. True, but currently, if you click on a track (no selection) then you can seek forward but not backward. If I were wanting to "seek" a particular point in the audio, then intuitively I will click "near" where I think the point is, s...

Re: Improved seeking

There's also this oddity. Left/right (once) seems to behave no different from comma/period (both shifted and unshifted), during play: jumping a constant time of 1s or 15s (or other amounts specifiable in Playback Preferences). But if not during play, left/right jumps a distance that depends on the ...

Is the "Clip Threshold" meant to apply to both View > Show Clipping and Analyze > Find Clipping?

Where are you proposing to place those preferences?
