Re: 2.1.2 fixes recording input level problems
I'm note quite sure what you mean there Gale - if I put my "good" turntable through the ART box, into the Mac via Audacity, I will have gain control from the ART won't I? Yes, even if the Mac does not show you a gain slider. Or as I said but you did not like the idea, if the TEAC has spea...

Re: ACX Check plugin won't load
In the upcoming 2.1.3 release you shouldn't need to use the Terminal to access the plugins, at least when starting Audacity up.kozikowski wrote:it is a little concerning you needed Terminal to get there....

Re: Audacity Crashed While Saving Project - Need Help Recove
They are .au files as mentioned in my comment. But do you have the AUP file? You reopen Audacity projects using the AUP file, not the AU files. The fact that there are no AU files left in the temporary folder tells me Audacity almost finished saving, and might even have done so. I didn't edit my wo...

Re: Why is WinXP better at running Audacity than Xubuntu?
from what I see, your 1/2 gig is really light. If possible, you may want to try Lubuntu 14.04 and install the Audacity that is in the reopitories: that will be 2.0.?. I also have eveything turned off such as Bluetooth, print applet, power management, and auto updating. I do the updating from the co...

Re: Why is WinXP better at running Audacity than Xubuntu?
Poster did say that he is running Xubuntu which is much lighter RAM user than Ubuntu. Yes I saw that, but my point was that lightweight derivatives of Ubuntu are not (in my experience with a 1 GHz / 1 GB RAM notebook) that much lighter - I could get the same marginal improvement by shutting down Na...

Re: 2.1.2 fixes recording input level problems
Since my post, I have been using different software (Wavepad) which is excellent and does have gain control, but cost me almost as much as the black box you are suggesting! But the Mac does not have gain control for the USB turntable and neither does the turntable have a hardware gain control. So a...

Re: Audacity Crashed While Saving Project - Need Help Recove
Was an AUP file saved when you tried to save the project? If so, open that AUP file. The Audacity 1.2 Recovery Utility can be used with any version of Audacity. See http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/recovering_crashes_manually.html#Automatic_recovery_tools . But it only works with unedited recordin...

Re: Why is WinXP better at running Audacity than Xubuntu?
Audacity does not officially support Pi operating systems. Ubuntu from the last five years or so has become an extremely "heavy" operating system and the "lightweight" derivatives of it like Xubuntu are only somewhat less heavy. You can forget mainstream Ubuntu with only 512 MB o...

Re: Saving & Exporting small audio files
This doesn't have anything to do with compiling Audacity, so moved to the Windows board.

Re: ACX Check plugin won't load
In case you have corrupted the file I have attached another one. Have you used Effect > Add / Remove Plug-ins...? Use that, select the acx-check, click "Enable" then OK. If that does not help, do you see any of those other Audacity plugins such as Adjustable Fade or Crossfade Clips in Auda...
