Re: ffmpeg installed but can't be located
I am running the latest versions of both ffmpeg (2.2.2) and audacity (2.06) and have attempted both the dmg install and the zip file drag to both /usr/local/lib (I know this isn't recommended but it wasn't working and lame installed itself there and is working fine) and /Library/Application Support...

Re: Installed audacity as Admin, won't work for standard use
Installed audacity 2.0.6 as Admin and tested it, it works perfectly. If i log in as a standard user, audacity will open but when I import audio there are no blue sound waves or audio. It is like you have imported a silent track. I tried different tracks and formats but no joy. It still works perfec...
Re: sync-lock
I disagree with you saying that's the only solution in all multi-track projects. Sorry Gale but I think you are putting words into my mouth, or misunderstanding what I intended. I am NOT talking about "all multi-track projects". I am talking about "large multi-track projects (with lo...

Re: Issue with Converting MOno to Stereo
After all files are in the same format, I ran a windows program to check the file information to ensure that all files are in identical format. However I notice that some files still show with 1 channel and some with 2 , files have different sampling rates. The name of that Windows application? You...

Re: Random Color Screen Crash
Well the crash does seem to stop audio from running, but it doesn't shut down my pc and doesnt make a crash dump. Your first post said I get a random color screen and am forced to shut off the pc manually. Normally one gets a blue (or black) screen in that case and the memory is dumped. Have you tu...
Re: sync-lock
The difference is that if the preference is on you don't have to reduce the height of each track by hand. I don't understand your point. I was talking about working with large multi-track projects (lots of tracks). With "Automatically fit tracks vertically zoomed" OFF (disabled): "Vi...

Re: Unable to record from computer Windows 7
is there another way to increase the recording level you know of? Try increasing the playback level of what you are recording (and turn down the level of your speakers if you have external speakers). If you don't have external speakers, just start the playback of what you want to record loud enough...
Re: sync-lock
but I think it is much more likely to be found in the Manual. We can and regularly do link from one to the other. If the user finds in the manual " Tips for working with large multi-track projects ", and it is a link, then they have "found it" regardless of whether the actual co...

Re: Are there fixes for Yosemite in 2.0.7 alpha?
I don't use Mac, but I heard anecdotally on this facebook board that I manage https://www.facebook.com/groups/AudacityVOUsersGroup/ that somebody tried using 2.0.6 on Yosemite, and came to grief with frequent crashes. I am not allowed to see the posts without joining the group so I sent a request. ...
