Re: "Show Clipping" Options

I see no little value in reducing the opacity of the red lines or making them dotted. This is what a fairly typical (poor quality) downloaded from the Internet MP3 of "popular music" looks like: firsttrack002.png With reduced opacity, you can't see much more at this zoom level, but you do...

Re: sync-lock

So then you would need to define "lots" at the start of your article, and I would suggest your article is possibly too narrowly focused. I wasn't writing an article, I was writing some tips for goldieam who was working on a project with 22 tracks. In the context of this forum topic, my re...

Effect > Truncate Silence....

Audacity 2.0.3 is now old. I recommend you update to the current 2.0.6 here: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows.

If you stay with 2.0.3, Truncate Silence has a different, harder to understand interface.

Re: Cant record microphone + computer speakers (help)

Audacity records from only one source at a time. If you are trying to record Skype, use http://www.pamela-systems.com/products/ , http://voipcallrecording.com/ or other tool meant for the job. If you are recording a commentary on a game, use FRAPS http://www.fraps.com/ . If you must use Audacity, yo...

Re: Is free audio conversion software available ?

If you add FFmpeg to your computer then Audacity will import M4A without you needing to convert the file to WAV. See http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown . Or try SuperPlayer http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html#Dnload or VLC http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ . G...

Re: Recording Audio from Computer

This page already has all the information that is required about different methods of recording computer audio: Tutorial - Recording Computer Playback on Windows . WASAPI should be a direct digital copy of the stream. It will still capture the bell noise when your e-mail arrives, so turn off Windows...

Re: Export as video, mux audio to video, work like ffmpeg gu

If you know the FFmpeg muxing commands to use, and it does not require having the video stream open, have you tried it? See Exporting to an External Program.

If it works, please show us the steps and the exact commands you use.

Re: Audacity only part imports the audio file.

Please read my previous post more thoroughly and act on it. Drag the MP3 into Audacity using your computer mouse, or use File > Import > Audio... . Do not use File > Import > Raw Data... . Raw Data is not meant for MP3 files. Where do the files come from? Try downloading them again, using your web b...

There is no fixing for Yosemite being done yet that I know of. I made that point on your Facebook group to Andi and told her where she might be able to find the Audacity crash report.

Re: Yosemite

I can confirm that AU and VST effects do not open windows on Yosemite. OS-X 10.10 Audacity 2.0.3 Thanks, Jams. However 2.0.3 is obsolete now so I suggest you get 2.0.6 from http://audacityteam.org/download/mac . Generally, AU made by third-parties other than Apple should open from the Effect Menu i...
