Yes, MediaInfo shows you it was an MP4 and not an MP3. Now you have FFmpeg you can import MP4 files into Audacity.

Please be aware that Audacity does not officially support Yosemite yet. To have the best chance I would suggest you upgrade to Audacity 2.0.6 (http://audacityteam.org/download/mac).
