Re: Spastic Cursor in Audacity (Recording and Playback)

We have an "issue" open for it http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=246 - it can happen on Windows too.

The uneven motion when recording doesn't necessarily mean that the recording is at risk of dropouts or glitches.

Re: Deletes cause unwanted changes in waveform

It can happen when applying an effect to a selection too. I think it's disconcerting but only a visual problem. I also don't think it happens when zoomed in so far that you can see the samples, rather at intermediate zoom levels.

Re: Yosemite

I just finished recording a record on my Macbook via USB. I'm using OS 10.10 Yosemite and Audacity 2.0.6. I used fade in, fade out, click removal, and normalize. All worked fine. I exported multiple files in uncompressed 32 bit Aiff to itunes and it worked the same as always which is a good thing b...

Re: "Show Clipping" Options

The default is actual sound damage — that "three over" thing, or as close as can be achieved with high probability. We have too many highly processed songs that live at 0 dB giving an entirely wrong impression of damage. So are you still talking about Show Clipping here? The meters curren...

Re: "Show Clipping" Options

There needs to be a formal Peak Programme Indicator I suggest we leave that out of discussion for now and concentrate on agreeing changes to the tools we have. the Clipping Indicator needs to be fixed to respond only to probably clipping damage. Do you mean the clip indicator in the meters or Show ...

Re: "Show Clipping" Options

The lines remain visible after playback or recording is stopped, and are reset when a new playback or recording session is started This is not reliably true with divorced meters on SVN HEAD (13567, 8 November 2014) on Windows. Can you make steps to show that? Note that if you click in the playback ...

Re: How do you apply noise removal to the whole track /.

I am trying to remove the sound of a fan in the background of a 20 minute audio file.... I isolate about four seconds of the sound What you should do there is drag-select the four seconds of "noise only" in the waves. and then I go to effects and I click on to noise remove. I press get no...

Re: Automating Noise Removal In Chain

I was reading the docs and it states that if there is no noise profile If the Chain is applied to the current project, the current Selection is used to create the Noise Profile. When I open a new recording and select the area for the noise profile and run my chain the entire chain including the Noi...
