Re: Can vst plugin path be custom set?
Here's pic of multi column favs in post #1 of this thread. http://www.classicshell.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2567#p12546 You could dispense with the subfolders as shown here and just keep it to a list of effects. a second or third column of entries appears as ther list of favs or Audacity ...

Re: Importing files.
Thanks everyone. I am actually working with Apple, as there maybe a 'behind the scenes secrcuity block" I unknowingly have that is making this happen. Thanks again for all the assistance! There should be no security block if you download the ZIP file and extract LAME to your own user space (su...

Re: 2.0 isn't letting me convert to mp3
I'm using 2.06 We don't make that. You can get 2.0.6 here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ . I have LAME installed. Prior to 2.06, i was importing to both wav and mp3 with no problems. What do you mean by "importing to WAV and MP3"? LAME is not required for importing MP3. Importing is w...

Re: Bugzilla 458
This should be removed with wxWidgets 2.8.13 is released isn't good English. Do we know that all distros that use GNOME have included our patch or updated to > 2.8.12? If not, perhaps the comment should be "This should be removed when Audacity is released with Widgets > 2.8.12"? Gale

Re: Create the forum about plugins, please
Create the forum about plugins (search, requests, development, sharing links ...), please. The problem is that there is the Nyquist plugin interface which is native to Audacity and which has a Forum of its own http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewforum.php?f=39 . So that cuts across a "Plugins&qu...

Re: I enter SHIFT+SPEEDPLAY. There is cycled play?
I see only chage of button on cycled. And buggy stop. Transcription Toolbar (Play-at-Speed) does not loop, so yes, that would be a feature request. What does "buggy stop" mean? If you are reporting a problem, then we need your operating system and version of Audacity and a detailed descri...

Re: Recording not keeping up with Tape
I did have Iceberg open and was playing Solitaire, so not really stressing it. Any game stresses the computer. If it is a recording problem, double-check there are no checkmarks (no ticks) in the Transport Menu. Try another USB cable. Open the Audacity preferences, Recording section, and try increa...

Re: "Show Clipping" Options
I had a few PM's with Koz about this. I think he will accept a majority decision. I think there are three plans on the table. All of the plans could also include configurable threshold below 0 dB for the given number of samples. I think that is un-necessary complication but I don't object if we want...

Re: reset Preferences CFG file
So I don't understand why you say that resetting Preferences would not reset the toolbars. Because if you read the Proposal one if the original (and still existing ideas) is to implement Preferences reset through Edit>Preferences with each pane having a Reset button (which could wither reset the Pr...

Re: reset Preferences CFG file
As I said, please enlighten me as to the harm that "NewPrefsInitialized=1" does to 2.0.7. An example already given. A user may want to reset preferences for Audacity 2.0.7 but not wipe out their old 1.2.x preferences from 2.0.6. Then that does not harm 2.0.7 which is the question I asked....
