Re: Playback skipping ahead

I use Audcaity 2.1.2. I recorded an interview using Audacity and when I play it back, there are certain chunks of time that skip ahead. Essentially, the recording is completely out of order. Is there any way to fix this, or am I out of luck? Does anyone know what may have caused this or how I can p...

Re: Weird echo/reverb when recording audio from my computer

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Audacity, but the problem still exists. Reinstalling Audacity never changes your settings on Mac. If you want to reset, quit Audacity, open Finder, use Go > Go to Folder and type or paste: ~/Library/Application Support/audacity/ In that "audacity" folder, ...

Re: Audio jack in windows 10 machine doesn't work

The audio jack works fine, but in Audacity, I plug in my headphones, but the sound still goes through the speakers. I've searched for a solution, not finding one How do I solve this so that when I listen to audacity, I can listen through my headphones? If when you plug in the headphones you hear so...

Re: Audacity reversing channels

Also please tell us what Audacity version you are using (see the pink panel at the top of the page). Also please be aware that if the 3.5 mm (1/8 inch) audio input is the only audio input on the computer, it is not really suitable for recording from a tape deck. If you care about recording quality, ...

Re: Audacity reversing channels

Well, try EAC again. Does it record reversed now? Gale No CD player, recording tapes from the deck to PC directly. It happens no matter what deck I use. I have used at least half a dozen Yamaha, Pioneer and Sony decks over the years and at least 4-5 different soundcards and it's always the same, it ...

Re: Why is WinXP better at running Audacity than Xubuntu?

I was hoping to pick up some explanations/tips along the lines of Steve's solution to my gaps issue where there may be tweaks that one could do I think you should face facts - Ubuntu and even its light derivatives are "heavy" OS'es. Simply don't use them on a machine like yours. That said...

Re: Marking Tracks

I'm new to Audacity. Up to now I've been using Magix and if I've recorded from an LP and want to mark the tracks it was a simple procedure: just press 'm' where required. So far I can't find a way to do this in Audacity. Is this facility available? Have a look at Splitting a recording for export as...

Re: Audacity reversing channels

"Ripping" usually means "from CD". Is there a CD player in the equation somewhere? Please describe the deck (make and model number is useful) and how it connects to your computer. Have you transposed cables somewhere? Gale I'm ripping tapes and what comes out of my deck as right ...
