Re: Suppress folders ending in _data for OPEN, SAVE, etc...

I keep dozens and dozens of projects in a directory It's best not to keep projects for long term storage. If you are sure the project is finished, export it then delete the AUP file and _data folder. My problem is that when I wish to open an old project, I always have to scroll scroll scroll past a...

Re: Echo or Tin Sound for Voice Recordings

I need some guidance as to what settings to use for recording a voice. The audio will be used for an automated system. The recording has to be 8000Hz, Mono, 8 bit and saved in U-Law format. Is it for a telephone system? We were using an older version of AudioCity (1.6) Well, that was nothing to do ...

Re: Yikes: is there setting that limits length of a track??

I've learned from watching videos Best not to do that, unless Audacity explicitly suggests you watch a specific video. ;) Many of the videos about Audacity on YouTube are for old versions of Audacity, or incorrect in one way or another. Here is the Audacity Manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/...

Not yet. If you know someone who would like to volunteer to translate Audacity Manual to Swedish, please ask them to write to our feedback address.

Re: "Show Clipping" Options

While I think that "plan D" might be nice for some users, I think it is over the top for most users, so -1 (though I'd be quite happy for there to be a meter plug-in to have "plan D"). I'm -1 on "Plan D", it's overkill for shipped meters. I don't think it unreasonable ...

Re: Shorter minimum attack and release times for Compressor

One thing that would be useful to me would be an adjustable make-up gain control. The current "make-up gain" is actually a "normalize" function. It amplifies the output to a peak level of 0 dB. This is getting off the subject, perhaps you should split to a new topic. I think it ...

Re: deleting defined sections of audio

If you do "A", then the exported file would start with the silence or low level noise to left of the first actual audio content. If you do "C", then the exported file would start with the first actual audio content, then would have silence between each subsequent section of conte...

Re: Audacity Already Running Error

In Mavericks you would be able to double-click Audacity.app when it is already running in its window and that would switch to the Audacity window. You would be able to right-click a WAV or AIFF > Open with and point to the running Audacity.app, and the file would import into Audacity. Both those act...

Re: Metadata Editor

After reading your analysis of the problem I tried shifting the tracks upward using the track control panel's "move track up" choice so all 20 songs would be on one continuous track (with the 3 second spacing between songs). That action, however, doesn't merge the 20 tracks into one so th...
