As Koz says, Audacity does not yet officially support Yosemite.
If you mean that there was no sound in Audacity, try Transport > Rescan Audio Devices in the Audacity menu bar and reselect the device you are trying to play to.

Re: Audio recording too fast - skipping effect
Also make sure the sample rates are the same everywhere.
In particular, open Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup and set the AKAI input and output sample rate to the same as Audacity's project rate.
Open Audacity > Preferences... and try increasing "Audio to buffer".

Re: Newbie question...
If you select a position in the middle of an existing track, R will start a fresh, new track, but does it at your selected point in time. Koz "select" as in place cursor with the cursor tool? Yes, press F1 to make sure you have Selection Tool, then drag a selection in the blue waves. &quo...

Re: Error: not well formed (invalid token) at line 1340
Even with Word Wrap off, it seems Notepad (at least on Windows 7) doesn't format AUP (or AUTOSAVE) files properly because it does not understand LF line endings. It would be easier to view in Wordpad. Default Save in Wordpad is OK as long as there are not Unicode characters in the file. If you need ...

Re: Record Autosave Feature
Moved to "Adding Features". Part 2 of this question: what would happen to the recording if my Win 7 automatically shuts down my PC (at a user set predetermined time), i. e., if there is NO record autosave, when I turn my PC back on, is there some way of 'salvaging' the recording? Yes there...

Re: Preferences Does NOT Show My Device?
I have used the microphone output (to do this manually) many times before, but each time I get a horrible sound which is not acceptable and is very distorted! That's why I bought this new device but now I only see 1-Microsoft Sound Mapper (Input) and 2-USB Microphone and 3-RealTek Microphone and th...

Re: recording electric guitar through usb
Hi, I am using the 2.0.4 version. Unless you need to stay with 2.0.4 it would be better to update to the latest 2.0.6 version from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . Is it possible to record an electric guitar through the computer's usb? If possible how do I go about doing it? If your compu...

Re: Recovering .au files after crash
I verified the system disk. Should I verify and repair the Audacity disk image as well? I don't think so. Just re-download the DMG from http://audacityteam.org/download/mac/ if you are in doubt. I just opened the log again and I'm still getting "Error: Failed to get file system statistics (err...

Re: Creating 2 seconds on wma files
Opening the file from the folder, I haven't compared the minniseconds; but surely if you export as wma on 2.5 and it has the same durations, that 2.6 would be the same. The actual file length exported in 2.0.6 is the same as in 2.0.5, but other applications read the reported length of the 2.0.6 fil...
