I am not an audio engineer but I only quarrel with too much bass in the Win 7 recording. You can fix that in Effect > Equalization... .
So what happens if you take the headset to Windows 7 or Snowball to XP?

Re: No Sound
Well, contacted Ion who had me make several changes to the Audacity settings. Now it works, but now I'd like to know if there is a way to 1. Save the settings Most relevant settings such as audio device choices, default project rate and default quality will be saved when you quit Audacity. 2. Find ...

Re: Error: not well formed (invalid token) at line 1340
NotePad++ is fine. You should use that anyway if you have Unicode characters in the file. Given that: 1) NotePad can't handle "LF" 2) Wordpad can't handle Unicode WordPad can read and write any Unicode characters inside the app itself, but if you save an AUP file containing Unicode charac...

Re: Using Audacity for nearly 2 years and its suddenly stopp
All I hear when I attempt to record into the microphone socket, is myself speaking, even though I have a cable going straight into the mic socket ? If recording into the external mic socket gives you acceptable quality in your opinion, then choose the external mic as the Recording device in Audacit...

Re: Recovering .au files after crash
I'm no longer getting a dialogue prompt about consistency errors. The project simply opens and is still fully silent. So using Effect > Amplify on the recovered project or on any of the AU files makes no difference - the audio is still silence? When you open Amplify on the project or on an AU file,...

Re: Preferences Does NOT Show My Device?
Hey Thank you for your reply. :) I went to Transport and Rescan and found out that the Microphone Array (USB PnP Audio) is indeed my new Tape device! :) Thanks very much for your help. Now I got to find out why there is no sound? Set the Output device in Audacity to your computer speakers or headph...

NotePad++ is fine. You should use that anyway if you have Unicode characters in the file. I suppose you could argue that AUP and AUTOSAVE should be written with Windows CR-LF line endings given that is our majority platform and given Mac and Linux can handle that. I will duck behind the parapet now....

Re: Record Autosave Feature
Hello, you're right re Windows (at least with the freeware scheduled/unattended auto-shutdown software that I'm test 'driving') not shutting down. The shutdown process starts as scheduled, but immediately I get a popup type dialog window asking me if I want to save the file (standard fare for all w...

Re: Echo or Tin Sound for Voice Recordings
While we are currently using a USB microphone, in the past we used an analog headset with mic. In the past, when we first recorded on the Windows 7 machine, two different people complained about the sound quality. We therefore went back to the Windows XP machine and used it up until recently. Keep ...

Re: recording electric guitar through usb
I bought a guitar link USB interface but Audacity does not pick up the signal nor do I see the USB interface in the list of input. Did you get the Behringer: GUITAR LINK UCG102 ? Don't use Behringer's ASIO drivers for that because Audacity as shipped does not understand ASIO. Connect the interface ...
