Re: Mic not recognized. Questioning Quality of Recordings
Have you tried inserting your mike before opening Audacity? Stearman65. Strangely enough, but that seemed to solve it. I can now select the Microphone USB selection and record through my mic. Now the sound is loud and distorted. I need to work with that. But this solved my issue. It was so simple I...

Re: recording slider mutes playback
This isn't anything to do with your previous topic so I started a new one for you with a new title. Are you saying that the recording slider mutes playback, and if you unmute playback it mutes recording? Those sort of interactions usually mean that the drivers for your sound card are incorrect. Plea...

Re: Will 2.0.03 measure seconds to 6 decimal places?
hh:mm:ss + microseconds? I think that's what most want (what 1.2.6 had). Therein lies the rub! My guess is that anyone interested in examining the seconds out to six decimal points will not be looking at audio that is many hours long. My personal choice would probably be mmmm:ss + micro (i.e. 4 pla...

Re: How to inccrease volume of 500 wma files
I am really learning a lot with this... Is "0 db" equivalent to all bits in the digitized sample being set 1? Its "dB" with upper case "B". Sample values can be positive or negative and the possible values increase with bit depth. For 16-bit depth the minimum value = 0...

Re: Playback
Windows media player is working and Realtek speakers is the only available device. I should also say that when the problem first occured I downloaded another free recording and playback software program which works perfectly. Which is...? So the issue is that you see the green playback meters bounc...

Re: Plugins don't work
Yes, I shoult use the stable version, but I'm waiting for the issue of an other bug : Audacity don't acceptes to open tow projects. To do that, I have to go to the "open" menu because, if I clic on the other project I need, in nautilus, it's not opening... I have this message : Le système...

Re: How to inccrease volume of 500 wma files
are the commands in the EDit Chains discussion what I would use, except line 2 would be ExportWMA? You can't use Chains for this - there is no ExportWMA command. It's a feature request that there should be Chain Export commands for FFmpeg formats. Try dBPowerAmp instead. Add the WMA codec to it fro...

Re: Stop audio, record feedback, start back playing audio?
Professor states there was a button that would stop the audio, allow him to record his feedback (without overwriting the currently playing audio), and then start back playing the audio. I am unable to find this feature in Audacity. Audacity does not do that in one step. He should use SHIFT + A to s...

Re: Joining song split in two
It's one of the Tracks > Align Tracks tools. If you pick the right one, it will slide the second track over so it starts after the first track ends. Align with Selection End..???? Select both tracks then Tracks > Align Tracks > Align End to End http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tracks_menu.html#...

Re: Exporting Multiple Channels
Just to add, Audacity itself only plays mixed down to stereo.
