Re: reset Preferences CFG file
If resetting preferences in 2.0.7 does not fix the problem in 2.0.7, then the problem is probably nothing to do with preferences. Quite possibly but the case that I was thinking of was resetting.cfg then going back to 2.0.6 and running that (playing safe and trying the app version that - it appears...

Re: reset Preferences CFG file
Thanks for your work on this, Ed. So no-one has actually compiled this "reset CPP2/reset.cpp"? Ed, if you would like me to compile it please give step-by-step - including where to add it into the Audacity solution if that is needed. I tried adding the file into the "src" folder i...

Re: Audacity recorder timer
Are you saying you used Transport > Timer Record... to make this recording, if so what duration did you choose there?

Re: Audacity recorder timer
If the tape sounds a bit slow, open Effect > Change Speed, enter "16.66666" (without quotes) in the "Percent Change" box and click OK. This will make the audio 90 minutes long if it was exactly 105 minutes long before.

Re: Playback [SOLVED]
Solved at last!!. The audacity volume was turned right down to 0 in the mixer. The only mystery is how it happened as I didn't know you could access the volume control that way. It could have happened when you appeared to have selected a host other than MME in Audacity and received an error (-9996 ...

Re: recording slider mutes playback
no, If i put the mouse on the Audacity recording level left side as soon as i move it to the right, the mute sign appears on the volume speaker logo on the lap top task bar. when i unclick the mute box the slider bar on the audacity recording level shoots all the way back to the left. That seems to...

Re: Will 2.0.03 measure seconds to 6 decimal places?
Gale, this thread is a year old and the underlying code has changed drastically in the last couple weeks. Are you trying to patch SVN HEAD or are you seeing strange results with SVN HEAD and no patch? There's a much more current thread ( http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=82163 ...

Re: Visual Studio 2008
I want to compile 2.0.6 to use ASIO4 and I have done this several time in the past. However, this time I had problem with Visual Studio 2008 (the full version). When I tried to open up audacity.sln, VS indicated the new version 2.0.6 was built with a new version of VS and the file could not be open...
