Re: recording jam vox
Please describe more about what you are doing. Are you recording a guitar and feeding that signal to standalone JAMVOX software, and then asking Audacity to record the modified signal? Does JAMVOX appear as an audio device in /Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup? How is the guitar connected to t...

Re: Orphan Block Files
HELP!!!!!! After doing some reading on this topic and bug 137, I unfortunately think I know the answer to this, but I'm hoping for a miracle! I'm almost completely done with this huge audiobook and when I went to open the Aup file, it was only the last 7 minutes and I got the "Warning 6440 Orp...

Re: Record level has to be set very low 0.04
It all works OK but I am concerned the level has to be set so low. Doesn't seem right. That is normal. For some reason, Microsoft thought it a good idea to set +30 dB of software gain by default (amplifying USB audio input by +30 dB). I don't think that should be regarded as confirmed or official w...

Re: Audacity recorder timer
No, I did not use the transport timer function. I simply turned on the cassette player then hit the record button on Audacity. Is this the first time it recorded too slow? Do you have a strobe edge or strobe mat on the turntable platter to judge the speed? Can you help me with editing? I read all t...

Re: recording slider mutes playback
Down loaded Audio Drivers from Acer, realtech. I have Driver booster 2 so it updated them. You could try without Driver Booster 2 updating them. ;) I can't guarantee that will help, but Driver-finding applications generally have poor reputation, just like most tune-up applications. I would not have...

[quote=""Gale Andrews"]Have you tried clicking to sort by date modified, or typing the first letter of the project in the "File name" box, then choosing from the list that appears? Yes. Unfortunately, while the sort order of both the files and folders will change, the folde...

Re: reset Preferences CFG file
I tried the two patches for the internal "Reset" (single and multiple buttons in Prefs). In the "single button" patch, the "Reset" button should have an ellipsis as it is opening a dialogue requiring user input. The "Very drastic action" title of the message w...

Re: Will 2.0.03 measure seconds to 6 decimal places?
I don't believe that adding this one or that one in an ad hoc manner is the correct approach because there will always be some situation that requires units that are not available. Imo what we need is a general solution that allows the user to define "ticks" and "tick multipliers&quo...

Re: reset Preferences CFG file
Do people often want to default more than one pane of preferences? If not, a reset pane could be more effort to use, especially if you have to look at the actual pane first to see what you're resetting. I'm guessing yes - otherwise why would we be thinking about the "sledgehammer" I meant...
