Re: reset Preferences CFG file
The "single button" patch edits "audacity.cfg" down to "NewPrefsInitialized=1" and does not delete pluginregistry.cfg. So although I think that's OK, Steve presumably doesn't. I'm not opposed to retaining "NewPrefsInitialized=1" per se. My "complaint&quo...

Re: reset Preferences CFG file
Ed, I built your external app on Windows. I am not sure of the best way to build it on Mac, so I asked Leland. I got quite close if I made it part of the Audacity project, but I won't post the errors here until I know that is the way to build it. Of course we can still post unofficial external reset...

Re: reset Preferences CFG file
I tried the two patches for the internal "Reset" (single and multiple buttons in Prefs). In the "single button" patch, the "Reset" button should have an ellipsis as it is opening a dialogue requiring user input. The "Very drastic action" title of the message ...

Re: Orphan Block Files
Thanks Gale, that's what I figured.......since I edited as I went along I''m pretty much "dead in the water"! So you did not find any other files containing references to the orphaned AU files in the _data folder: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Windows-7-Search-File-Contents ? Hopefully this...

Re: Suppress folders ending in _data for OPEN, SAVE, etc...
if you know the name of the project you want to open, you don't even have to look at all the folders. Just start typing in the "File name" box in the dialogue. A list of file name matches appears underneath the file name box, then you can select from that list. Audacity saves Projects usi...

Re: Will 2.0.03 measure seconds to 6 decimal places?
Why has the Audio position to show a value of 0 in stop mode? In this case, it should take the value of the left boundary of the selection in my humble opinion. I'm unsure what you are observing. As far as I can see it appears to be working correctly. Could you give steps to reproduce the issue (I ...

Re: Will 2.0.03 measure seconds to 6 decimal places?
the display for negative time values is broken in the 2.0.7 alpha builts (not related to the patch). The screen reader reports only dashes. I think NVDA is reading what is displayed correctly. On Windows 7 If I have exactly one second of audio behind zero, 2.0.0 shows for Selection Start: 00h 00m -...

Re: Orphan Block Files
Yes, the AUP file only lists 54 AU files. So you closed this project normally, with the entire audio visible? Did you shut down the computer within a few seconds of telling Audacity to save the project? Were any other projects open at the time, or in the same folder as this project? If so, are there...

Re: Record level has to be set very low 0.04
Yes, if I change the level in Audacity, the record level varies accordingly. Even if you change between 0.01, 0.04 and 0.07? And the level reported by Audacity, gets followed by the level reported by Windows - that is, if i set 0.04 in Audacity, the Microphone recording level in Windows is 4. I jus...

Re: Record level has to be set very low 0.04
I don't think that should be regarded as confirmed or official without more evidence from Microsoft itself that they (rather than OEM computer manufacturers or USB port manufacturers) are responsible. I have not researched it. Perhaps Microsoft give "guidance" to OEM's about this in the s...
