Unless you have a reason to use 2.0.2, install the latest 2.0.6 from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows. This will fix any installation reasons there may be for the problem.

Re: Can't get Audacity to record in stereo
So you are recording with a cable from audio out to the line in? Is it really a line-in, separate from the microphone input? If you are connecting to the only audio input you have, it may be a microphone input only, and it may be mono. You will be better off to use Windows WASAPI to record YouTube: ...

Re: recording electric guitar through usb
I don't know where I have gone wrong, but today I tried to add a guitar solo to a background accompaniment music. I first loaded the mp3 accompaniment track. Before launching Audacity I plugged in the microphone (for guitar solo) and headset. So you are not using the Behringer Guitar Link now? And ...

Re: between 2.0.3 and 1.3 Beta (Unicode)
Make sure you use the EXE installer of 2.0.6 (not the ZIP file). The installer should fix the problem with AUP files not opening in the 2.x version of Audacity.

Re: Add same jingle to multiple mp3 stereo files in a folder
I don't think there is a solution to this with Audacity's Batch Processing. The geeky way is probably to write a script for SoX using concatenate. However you could also use dBpoweramp which has an "Insert Audio" DSP to do just what you want if you accept the re-encoding loss. It is not fr...

Re: Strange one-time recording.
On some set-ups it seems to be more reliable to boot up the computer with the sound card connected, whereas on other set-ups it seems to be more reliable to boot the computer first, wait until it is fully booted, then attach the sound card. Sorry, I don't know any "rule" about which will ...

Re: Vinyl to USB seems to "jump"
I’ve been using a Citronic USB Phono Line RCA Adapter for recording vinyl to laptop, and then convert to mp3. Mostly it is great, the tutorials are easy to follow, and everything is user-friendly. However, a few tracks appear to “trip-over” themselves in places. It sounds a bit like the track has j...

Re: Audacity Not Recording In Windows 8.1
Forgive me if this has been previously covered. I installed Audacity on my computer. It plays wave files very well. However, when I go to record, the cursor just sits there at zero and shakes. When I stop trying to record, a latency problem message pops up. I have tinkered with latency settings, bu...

Re: Importing files from Tascam
I have recorded interviews on a Tascam DR-40 but have had considerable problems trying to load the audio files from my computer hard drive onto Audacity. I have the Tascam WAV audio files in a Library I created called INTERVIEWS UNEDITED, then in a yellow folder below that. They are accessible to p...
