Re: Error message: "audacity.exe is not a valid Win32 App" !
Audacity 2.0.6 runs on XP SP3 for me. So yes, in principle it runs on such a system. Windows error messages are sometimes misleading and could indicate system file problems. I doubt it is worth the experiment of installing Visual Studio 2005 (VS8) and an SDK and attempting to compile wxWidgets and A...

Re: Yosemite
"Debug Static" builds but "Release Static" is broken. I've reported it to the developers list. Thanks for letting us know.

Re: FLAC imports on 2.0.6 Mac OS X 10.6
My copy of Audacity was obtained from your web site. Audacity is free and open source so can be modified and distributed by others. So it is perfectly possible to find a build that does not behave as we intend. So, if it is true that your build uses internal libs to read flac files Why would we lie...

Re: FLAC imports on 2.0.6 Mac OS X 10.6
No, the Audacity error message did not state specifically "$PATH_TO_FILE". That was me redacting the specific path and replacing it with a commonly understood reference to sh variables. Do you actually need the path to that file to understand this problem? If you use quotes then it is com...

Re: FLAC imports on 2.0.6 Mac OS X 10.6
I've got a pretty standard Audacity installation using default downloads and the lame libs. I have some flac files I'd like to import. The import dialog includes flac support but when I try to import I get the error message: Audacity did not recognize the type of file $PATH_TO_FILE.flac If it is un...

Re: CAD U37 zero latency monitoring?
The mic appears to have no headphones port so in that case you made the wrong choice. You really wanted a mic with XLR connection into a USB interface with XLR input that has a headphones port. Why is there a delay or echo when listening to what I am recording?

Re: Error message: "audacity.exe is not a valid Win32 App" !
Audacity downloads are here: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . If you download elsewhere you may get viruses or versions of Audacity not made by us. Please be careful with XP. It is a security risk given Microsoft no longer supports XP with patches. See http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtop...

Re: Transcribing a tune
So you aren't recording anything after you have the tune in Audacity - just playing it? You can click and drag a selection in the blue waves. SHIFT-click on the green Play button to loop play that section over and over or just click to play the section once. You may want to label the sections http:/...
