Re: Why does the selected area change to the entire timeline
I finished my project except for one more problem. I have about eight talks each in a separate audio file. Two of the files are so full of dialog that I want to keep that there is no place to grab a Noise Profile. There are many places on the other files with similar, if not identical noise. What i...

Re: problems when recording direct to Audacity
It doesn't matter if I capture my audio from a CD playing, or from an LP coming thru a small mixer...or radio thru the mixer. I recently tried a differant sound card, a Sound Blaster if I recall. Still the same issue. I'll see if I can capture a sreen shot of the audion file and add it here.OK, tha...

Re: Deleting a small section of Track 02
Have you tried Edit > Cut, click where you want the bass to come in, then Edit > Paste? That should keep track 02 the same length. How is easiest method to “Delete” a greyed in selected section of a track? Pressing the “Delete” button does nothing. Press the yellow Stop button before editing. Gale

Re: USB Cassette Capture doesn't record on Macbook
I am using the same cassette player as the op and audacity ( just downloaded ) on my iMac. I have exactly the same symptoms as he had. I do see the input flashing in sound preferences. Is there any more information on this issue ? Please use more words to describe your "issue". Try connec...

Re: Error message: "audacity.exe is not a valid Win32 App" !
Why exactly has my last post documenting download sources and suggesting there is some issue with the way Audacity is being compiled/packaged rather than some issue with downloaded data not appeared as yet ? It was here previously - that was what I replied to. Data extracted from non-working execut...

Re: recording electric guitar through usb
No I did not use the guitar link. The mic and headset are non-usb. They are connected in the mic and headset plugs provided. Overdub is on. Strange, but the only config for the playback is the Realtek HD audio (loopback). There is no mic in the drop down menu. There is not meant to be - WASAPI is o...

Re: Spitfish Plugin Not Working
I'm having the same issue with spitfish. It seems to be installed correctly and blockfish works just fine. I'm assuming that when I click "listen" with the knobs "sense" and "depth" turned up, that I should hear my loaded file play. It doesn't. When I click "previ...

Re: Append Import
Windows nightly 26th November, the file system.lsp is missing from the nyquist folder. It was there in the nightly 23rd Nov. It looks like some sort of build error. Copying that file from the 23rd to the 26th should fix the problem. Thanks for seeing that. Yes, there have been problems after the tr...
