Re: Martin Eastwood duet plugin
Hi all, stupid newbie here with a probably equally stupid question. ;) Does anyone know if there are any harmonizer plugins or such that will work with pre-recorded accapella vocals? (Not instruments, just vocals.) I sing to pre-recorded tracks a lot (mostly in churches and also at home for fun), a...

Re: Can I setup pulseaudio to route Microphone & Speaker out
Try this - it records each side of the conversation in its own channel: Skype Call Recorder (open source, free) . See Skype Call Recorder FAQ . Using PulseAudio Volume Control (pavucontrol) to set Audacity to record from the monitor of the sound card has the limitation that both sides of the convers...
Re: Yosemite
I'm a longtime user of Audacity and never had any problems until lately (which is why I'm here 8-) ). Since upgrading to Yosemite (now on 10.10.1) I've had consistent dropouts in recordings using Audacity (I'm on 2.0.6). They are dropouts of about half a second, occurring steadily every few seconds...

Re: "Show Clipping" Options
(I am also hesitant to set up my only computer to dual-boot Linux/Windows). Linux could well break Windows booting (unless you install Ubuntu's WUBI which is a bit like installing an app in Windows). WUBI doesn't work with Windows 8 but I boot XP/7/8 and Ubuntu using "Easy BCD" (Windows a...

Re: "Show Clipping" Options
Are you (Ed) willing to do a patch for plan A) (upper case) some time? Willing but not able, sorry. Doing a "fade" is outside my comfort zone - it would take me way too long to figure out how to do it with the 2.1.x code base given all the possible meter combinations (combined, divorced, ...

Re: Error message: "audacity.exe is not a valid Win32 App" !
(1) The Audacity executable was apparently compiled using VC2008 but even if it wasn't, it does make specific reference to the DLLs relevant to VC2008 (i.e. V9.0.21022.8) (2) The manifest being supplied with 'new' versions of Audacity was apparently produced using VC2008/SP1 and the associated DLLs...

Re: "Show Clipping" Options
So I think this has stalled for 2.1.0 inclusion (?) Are you (Ed) willing to do a patch for plan A) (upper case) some time? Or does anyone want a combination of A) and B) as Steve suggested he would be OK with? Does a combination mean A) plus differentiated display of Show Clipping, or something else...

Re: Regular Interval Labels
The plugin posted in the first post of this topic is my best shot at supporting both "placing labels" and "placing intervals", but I still don't think that this distinction is clear for users. My initial post is lengthy in describing the distinction, but Gale still found it nece...

Re: Need help linking mic
So you are all fixed up? USB devices should be connected before launching Audacity, otherwise use Transport > Rescan Audio Devices in the Audacity menu bar. You may also need to set up the mic in Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup so that the mic is selected and so that its sample rate is the s...

Moved to "Adding Features".
There weren't any previous requests for this that I know of. I added three votes for it to http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Featu ... sts#labels (scroll down).
