Steve I wrote a long post http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=260946#p260946 on things you could try. Have you tried...

Re: Audacity 2.0.6 + FFmpeg 2.2.2 = Error 127

Hello OK i solved it. I used a filemonitor and it showed that Audacity does not look in the right folder. It first looks for the dll in any other folder thats in the Path first - if any of those folders contains another ffmpeg, Audacity uses that instead of the folder you set in the Audacity option...

Re: Fuzz

Computer mic ports almost always have a boost setting in Windows. If that boost is on then you will probably want to turn the input level down.

Re: I need to compile 2.0 - but failed at first hurdle

I want to record multiple channels (4), so (it seems) I have to (for the first time in my life) compile a program ;-(!! Or just use commercial software that supports ASIO out of the box. I found this page: https://audacity.googlecode.com/svn/audacity-src/trunk/win/compile.txt which hopefully tells ...

Re: Hissy mp3 quality

What version of Windows and Audacity? See the pink panel at the top of this page. it is just when it gets mixed into an MP4 actually and NOT an MP3 that it goes rubbish. The quality of the final Soundslides material on the web is not good. But when I make a CD copy of the Soundslide from my PC it is...

Re: Multitrax Track 01 recording into trax 02 Not wanted

Software playthrough ON generates an echo of the input audio (ie bass); with both playthrough ON and overdub ON, both the input (bass) and playback (drums) echo into an infinite loop. That sounds like you are recording stereo mix. Open Device Toolbar and set the input device or recording device to ...

Re: Recovering .au files without a .aup file

I updated to the latest version of Audacity and tried to import the .autosave file, but it still returns with this error. And I if I try to import it as raw data, I get a blank waveform. You can't import saved AUP or AUTOSAVE files. If as it seems you were editing this project before you saved it, ...
