Re: AUP file not recognized
it tells me it can't read the aup file and your telling me I don't have an aup file If you want you can open the AUP file in Notepad. In Notepad all you will see is an empty file. It is not empty but all the data in it is zeros. The file got corrupted. As I suggested perhaps you shut down the compu...

Re: reset Preferences CFG file
Only Audacity knows where the "appropriate location" is and, currently, it only knows this when it is running. So, the external app does not know the folder it is located in and cannot be made to write to the folder it is in? Not exactly, the external app knows its location and could even...

Re: AUP file not recognized
The reason I posted on that other thread is because the screen shot was the same as what I was seeing "audacity did not recognize the type of file 'C:Usersjdw86_000Documentsrecordingschrley7.aup' . If it is uncompressed, try importing it using "Import Raw". OK, so in that case please...

Re: Auto labelling - possible?
Where will user access auto labels? It is intended as a "one click" operation, so all it requires is an option in the key binding preferences. I realise that it would then be somewhat "hidden", but this feature has not had a large number of requests (none before Simonsmithster a...

Re: Lost files
I was more interested in where they go. Assuming this is a spinning magnetic drive the space that was occupied by the files is marked as available and the files (though not necessarily their names) are theoretically recoverable until the space they were taking is overwritten. Until then you can use...

Re: Auto labelling - possible?
so 1, 2, 3, 4, ... toward infinity, but only for that project. All projects starting at "1". +1 all projects start at 1. What about if you add auto labels at 0, 10, 20 .... seconds (say, 32 labels) 1---------2---------3... and then add auto labels at 5, 15, 25... seconds Should you get: 1...

Re: batch automated save compressed copy and export
Chains works on batches of audio files (like WAV) or the current project. It would be a feature request to apply a chain to multiple AUP project files.
By the way, compressed copy of project saves an OGG file per each track in the project, so it is lossy, unlike standard projects.

I'm on Win XP SP3 - and there isnt a newer SP is there? Is there somewhere I can ftp the source from? If you want to compile a...
