Re: Auto labelling - possible?

If there is no playback, does your new key do nothing, or does it add an autolabel at the selection? Doing nothing does not seem very useful. If the new key autolabelled the selection when there was no playback, it could be a reasonable alternative to the "toggle" idea. Certainly "we...

Re: How Do You Keeping Monitoring On Permanently?

I note that there is a comment on the Audacity wiki about this feature request: [always on monitoring] .. is not such an easy change as it appears - handling the situation when a device is changed/swapped out for example but Audacity is still looking for an input to read - it may not be fixed quick...

Re: Recording album at max but no clips

It's really not clipping that I have the issue. It's getting the red lines/marks to show when do have clipping. That's is why I said previously on new TT now, even recording at max levels ie 100 on mixer bar and max on vue rec meter I can not get red clip lines to show on waveform graph. I have 'sh...

+1 to that unless there are bugs.

Do I assume the de-clicker being slow at lower frequencies cannot be improved?

Re: Cannot recognise certain WAV files

You're correct, it is not only named incorrectly, the file header is also incorrect. WAV is a container format so it is perfectly legitimate (if unusual) for it to contain MP3. Adding a RIFF WAV header is the only way that you could import MP3 into older versions of PowerPoint. And yes this is a sm...

Re: Confused by "Chains" usage procedure

I'm trying to process a batch of mp3 files using the Edit/Apply functions. I've edited chain "MP3 conversion" so that the first command is to "TruncateSilence". I follow these steps: - Click Apply Chain -> Apply to Files - Select a group of files for batch processing - "App...

Re: Audacity 2.0.6 Cannot Find Project Data Folder

As an update, my husband and I were able to find the data folder that audacity was trying to find...and it is indeed empty. But presumably it is not in the same folder as the AUP file, or does it have a changed name? If the folder was present with the _data folder but empty, the error would be &quo...

That problem is fixed from 2.0.6 onwards.

Re: Append Import

It's the system file for Linux and not the one for Windows. This does probably also apply to the Mac. However, I don't know where this replacement should happen during the build. It seems that using lib-srclibnyquistnyquistsyswinmsvcsystem.lsp solves the problems with Append Import, Sample Data Exp...

Thanks for mentioning it. No it fails to initialise on all platforms. I reported it on the -quality list.
