Not talented enough to use a signature though, due to sellers of the above.

Re: Audacity 2.0.6 with Mandatory profiles [SOLVED]

Good to know, so there are now two solutions. Writing audacity.cfg to "Portable Settings" in Audacity's installation folder at logon is also known to work in this scenario, hence why I mentioned it.

Re: MP3 Bit Rate stuck on 128

As for Linux, they say that it's only free if your time is worthless. :D To be fair, the popular distributions like Ubuntu and Linux Mint do make efforts to be reasonably simple to use. Their learning curve is little greater than if you were to buy a Mac computer running OS X or indeed move to Wind...

Re: Export options visibility

When selected to use different settings, the Format Settings dialog automatically opens after clicking "OK" / "Save" / "Go Ahead" / "Next" (whatever the word is to proceed) in the export dialog. However the "select to use different settings then OK"...

Re: Export options visibility

Personally I find that message in the inactive recording meter far from "ridiculous" - it's informative and a good label "on the tin" 8-) I meant I'm surprised Vaughan accepted something as "gross" as that. If you remember when James first provided a mock-up of the mes...

Re: Export options visibility

The most intuitive thing would be if that new control in your image was a dropdown that changed with the format selected to contain the options for that format. That would work well if e.g. for Other uncompressed files we were able to add both Header and Encoding menus. However some of the controls...

Re: Disabling yellow Boundary Snap Guides

And it's all nice and dandy with text read slowly where there are long enough silences between each word so that a few tenths of a second don't matter, but if I have someone speaking really fast, and I try to pin point a tiny 'a' or a 'the', it's very hard when audacity keeps snapping my selection ...

Re: Compiling audacity - Visual studio 2012.

I cant compile mod-script-pipe in VS2008 as it requires VS2013. mod-script-pipe.vcproj (which is explicitly compatible with or upgradable by VS2008) wasn't deleted from SVN until 26 October, so I am not sure what the problem was. So I compiled in 2013 and placed the dll in the modules directory ins...

Re: How to compare two audio files ?

I am still not really clear why you need to check every call live, as opposed to something like Steve's suggestion to pre-check the system for noise and distortion. You could certainly use Analyze > Silence Finder... in Audacity to check for silences at the noise level in the recorded files. Silence...

Re: Filetype issue; Broadcast Wav, RF64 (ProTools and WavLab

Using the 64-bit wav extension/BWE broadcast wav platform I have no problem importing these files into WaveLab until I export a file over 4Gb. WaveLab will not read the file. You mean BWF. If WaveLab chokes on the file over 4 GB that suggests it thinks the file has RIFF WAVE headers and not RF64 WA...
