Re: clicks and dropouts playing Soundflower recordings
Yes, that is exactly what I was doing -- using Soundflower as both my input and playback device with Audacity and yes with Soundflowerbed on. I wasn't aware there was any other way to set it up. In fact I thought that's what Soundflower was for, to be the go-between for all audio sources so everyth...

Re: clicks and dropouts playing Soundflower recordings
I disagree with Koz, changing Audio to buffer often does help Mac playback problems on Mavericks. Just remember that 100 milliseconds is the default value if you do need to go back. And I would go back. Changing an environment variable for no reason can pollute further troubleshooting. The reasons ...

Re: Auto-Stop
I'd have liked a separate Stop and Set Cursor button as you know, but I agree it would not be the whole answer. Only slightly off topic, why can't we have shift+space for stop and set cursor? I know that it is used for starting loop play, but it is not used during play. Failing that, why not Ctrl+S...

Re: Renaming vst in cfg file
In previous Audacity versions Please answer the questions in the pink panel at the top of the page. You can do what is described at http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=204711#p204711 . If you rescan plugins, your custom names will be discarded. If you wait for the next 2.1.0 version of Au...

Re: Latency correction issue
Trying to record from my mic input ... Does that mean the internal mic on a Dell Latitude E5540 Laptop, a $5 computer mic plugged into its mic port, a Shure PG42 USB mic, or what exactly? Have you tried restarting the computer? Have you ensured Transport > Sound Activated Recording is not ticked (n...

Re: clicks and dropouts playing Soundflower recordings
I'm glad you made some progress. Do you mean when you tried the Beta that you tried http://www.audacity.homerow.net/index.php?dir=mac/&sort=date&order=desc ? Updating Soundflower did the trick! No more dropouts! In fact my input levels look healthier, too, so it solved both my problems! I ca...

Re: Auto-Stop
I'd have liked a separate Stop and Set Cursor button as you know, but I agree it would not be the whole answer. Using a cursor position or selection that was changed after Pause seems good. I usually like to set the cursor back to the starting position on stop, so if there was a way to call the edit...

Re: How do I recover sound files broken in 6 second chunks?
You didn't say you how you recovered these files. If these files all have the same or similar timestamps from the date you recovered them then there is nothing you can do to order them correctly. All you know is that the fourth digit (fifth character) of the file name is the same as the number of th...

Re: 14001 Error
In case it's not a typo, please be aware we don't make "2.03" or "2.06". All our releases have dots (periods) between the numbers.

Re: Auto-Stop
[moderator note: topic split to: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=263753#p263753] A significant question is where we auto-stop on choosing an edit command - where playback started from or where it ended? I have not seen the discussion, so what was the decision about that? If Pause is al...
