Re: Auto labelling - possible?

If a count reset or a label sort needs "years of discussion" then the system is broken IMHO I agree that some options could be useful, but given that the developer's don't like "preferences bloat", and no-one likes "menu bloat", how would you propose to add options to ...

Re: Editng Long Series Of Voicemails to Individual Voicemail

Install the LAME MP3 encoder from http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#lame . Drag-select the first message in the blue waves then hold CTRL and press B on your computer keyboard to label that section. Do the same for all the following messages. Then File > Export ...

Re: FLAC

It was suggested that I export my Audacity files as FLAC files. Does Audacity allow for this type of 'export as' function? Yes you can export FLAC. We have a Manual you can look at: Export Audio dialog - Audacity Manual . I purchased years ago a USB adapter that allowed the one headphone jack input...

Re: Recovering aup file after name change

The AUP file is pointing to "Appendix for Animal welfare (SMR 13)_data" as you can see. I don't know what your _data folder is actually called, so to avoid editing the AUP file you can name your _data folder as "Appendix for Animal welfare (SMR 13)_data" (without the quotes), and...

Re: 2.0.5 - Very long recording, very choppy.

So I have d00, d0a, d0b, etc.. to d61. So what I need to do, is take all the .au files from those folders, and put it in just one, right? So just getting rid of the sub-folder structure? I just want to ensure I don't mess this up further than it is. Yes you don't need the subfolder structure of 256...

Re: Audacity records faster

If you are only working with speech audio it will probably be more convenient to make the change in Preferences then for each new project and each time you launch Audacity you will start with 22050 Hz sample rate. Exactly: that's why I do it that way! And now... I find that Audacity doesn't work we...

Re: Advanced M3U Editing

I thought this was "generalized"? I'm with the poster here - if we don't want "general audio programming" queries, then we shouldn't have this section 8-) Isn't it meant to be "General Audio Programming (excluding Nyquist) for use in or with Audacity"? Questions like w...

Re: Audacity 2.0.6 Latency Issues

Try to close as many applications and services as possible before recording. That gives you the best chance of consistent recording latency. However if the recording is made slower or faster than the playback it indicates sample rate mismatches between audio devices and/or applications. You can help...

Re: 2.0.5 - Very long recording, very choppy.

I tried in 2.0.6, but I am still get the orphan warning, so I guess that is still a no-go. I was recording at 44100 Hz. Are you sure you quit 2.0.5? If you launch 2.0.6 with 2.0.5 still running, you will only get a new project window in 2.0.5. Otherwise if there is enough good audio in the project,...

Re: Chattering audio record

have just changed Audio to Buffer to 50 milliseconds, and that seems to have solved the problem. Thanks for letting us know. Was that still in 2.0.6? If you update to 2.1.0 when it comes out towards the end of the month and the problem returns, try increasing the buffer again. I don't think that wi...
