Re: Static/distortion on recording in Yosemite

I've read of others having static on recording, but it goes away when the file is exported. Unfortunately in my case it is still there after exporting and playing it in ITunes. I've exported to .aiff and MP3 with same results. I'm recording in Mono and at a 22050 project rate. I've tried 2.0.6 and ...

Re: Skips in Recorded Music

The help page I'm referring to is: Audacity - FAQ:Recording - Troubleshooting 11 How can I record without small skips or duplications? My current settings are: Latency Audio to Buffer: 100 milliseconds Latency Correction: -130 milliseconds Should either of these settings be changed? As it says on h...

Re: How do I create a custom keyboard shortcut?

Have a look at this page in the Manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/keyboard_preferences.html But what you can't do is to create a shortcut for any effect with your preferred settings. There is a Feature Request for that, would you like us to add your vote? BillFrezza appeared to say "...

Re: Are there users of iZotope RX 4 ?

I assume that those "brush operations", Photoshop-style, have some sort of equivalent Audacity functions? I am guessing that they are under the "Effect" menu? No real equivalent in 2.0.6 except for Notch Filter applied to all frequencies in a time selection. In the next 2.1.0 re...

Re: Audacity records faster

If you still have the renamed audacity.cfg, feel free to attach it and we can have a look. Ok! Here it goes! Thanks. I don't see much unusual there. You had Default Sample Format on 16-bit, whereas the shipped default is 32-bit float. You had redundant settings for a now removed feature that cached...

Re: it starts playing when i add markers

how did i manage to turn that on and how do i turn it off? i don't see it in preferences. It is listed in the Mouse preferences (5th item in the list: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/mouse_preferences.html). Unfortunately these are not really "preferences" because they can't (current...

Re: FLAC

really sad to hear Audacity doesn't support Yosemite The next 2.1.0 release might support it, possibly with some minor issues. Feel free to try the latest alpha builds from the top of http://www.audacity.homerow.net/index.php?dir=mac/&sort=date&order=desc which have some improvements for Yo...

Re: clicks and dropouts playing Soundflower recordings

IT WASN'T SOUNDFLOWER AFTER ALL! Or at least I don't think so. It's hard to tell now since I've tried so many things. What happened was, after not using Audacity for a couple of days when I tried it again the dropout problem suddenly reappeared!! So of course I'm like all, sunuva -- @#$!%$! So I st...

Re: Editng Long Series Of Voicemails to Individual Voicemail

All the cell phone voicemail messages are contained in one big mp3 file. I know that. In the one big MP3, drag-select the area corresponding to the first message (excluding the instructions), label that area. Then drag-select the area corresponding to the second message (excluding the instructions)...
