Re: Problem with Audacity HELP!!
Would a full harddrive have anything to do with that? It was happening when my harddrive was full. I had to manually go into the temp folder and delete everything. Yes having no disk space would corrupt the project, but not normally in such large discrete chunks. If you open Audacity's Directories ...

Re: Static/distortion on recording in Yosemite
You raise an interesting point regarding the Midi settings. I have never touched them. Looking at their settings I find that the "hardware rate converter" is disabled and the input is 44,100. I'm only using Audacity for recording and the input to the computer is analog line-in so do the M...

Re: Listening to LP through PC without recording
If you are using external computer speakers or built-in audio speakers it is more likely due to those.mldunlevy wrote:Thank you both, so much! Sounds a bit tinny, but I believe that is due to the poor quality stylus. Thanks again!

Re: Skips in Recorded Music
I am connected directly from the turntable to the USB port on the lap top. Per your suggestion, I've tried increasing the "Audio to Buffer" from 100 ms to 300, then 600, 1000 and finally to 5000 and this has not resolved the problem. OK, please set it back to 100 ms. I also tried disconne...

Re: How to insert selection at the beginning of a track
Hmm.. I was trying to understand the section on 'extending or contracting a selection'. I understood the part about selecting the part of the audio you want; in the way it explained how to extend it is where I got lost; it says hold down the shift key then press left or right? Left or right on the ...

Re: How to insert selection at the beginning of a track
Unfortunately none of these worked- how do you not select the audio for copying it? I would select it, press 'copy', then un-select it, put the cursor at the start of the track, and same thing would happen.. There is no reason this does not work: copy, press the |<< button or type J. Then you have ...

Re: Suggestion (Bandpass Filter and Custom FFT Filter)
I shouldn't have to simulate a bandpass filter by using a highpass and lowpass filter It's not a "simulation". Applying high-pass and low-pass filters in series IS a band-pass filter. You may also be interested in this plugin: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=204507#p204507 A...

Re: Listening to LP through PC without recording
Moved to the correct Windows board. Assuming that you have Audacity set up correctly to record from the USB device and play back through your normal sound card (setting are in the device toolbar ) then all you need to do is to turn on "Software Playthrough" (near the bottom of the "Tr...
