Re: Variable tempo change?
I have used the effects you mention but they only work by applying the same factor of change across the entire selection. Sliding Time Scale > Pitch Shift can set a different starting and ending tempo or pitch change. The time track idea might work if I could apply it to just one track and see the ...

Re: Audio jack in windows 10 machine doesn't work
setting and resetting the default audio output in Windows 10 as I had to do was hell. It was convoluted and cumbersome. It involved plenty of clicks. To be fair, the Anniversary Edition of Windows 10 lets you left-click the speaker icon then choose the playback device from a dropdown menu. Gale I c...

Re: Idiots guide to Audacity
Unfortunately the speakers on my computer remain silent. Please be more specific about the circumstances in which the speakers remain silent. Can you hear a song playing in Windows Media Player? If you Generate > Tone and click OK in Audacity, then play the tone, can you hear it? If you are trying ...

Re: Chordino does not remain 'Enabled'
I presume that you are referring to this plug-in: http://www.isophonics.net/nnls-chroma Chordino is a Vamp plug-in. On Windows, Vamp plug-ins should be installed in: %%PROGRAMFILES%%\Vamp Plug-ins (i.e. a directory named "Vamp Plug-ins" within the system Program Files directory, however l...

Re: Chordino does not remain 'Enabled'
If you do that by clicking the red window Close button, that is the problem, because the Close is treated as cancel. After enabling a plugin, be sure to press the OK button bottom right of the dialogue.gene1000 wrote:I enable it and then close the plug in manager.

Re: Chordino does not remain 'Enabled'
Yes version 1.1 from http://www.isophonics.net/nnls-chroma works in Audacity on Windows 10. If all else fails, exit Audacity and try deleting the pluginregistry.cfg file in Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\Audacity\ . If you cannot see that folder, type %appdata% or shell:appdata into the Explo...

Re: Audacity web, Phishing site? Google safebowsing alert
Thank you for your report. We can assure you we have already reviewed the security of the site and it is not compromised. The Google block appears to be due to one or more Google-supplied advertisements that have misleading buttons to "Download now" as if they were a button to download Aud...

Re: Timer Record Not Working
NEWS: I captured the "jittery font" issue on 2.1.2! Please see this 14 second video. Sorry for the focus in the middle. That last 5 seconds CLEARLY show the jittery/fidgety timer fonts on the Timer Record dialog box. https://youtu.be/WFxaJWx47K4 Thanks. So as I see it is not a general fon...

Re: Timer Record Not Working
for 2.1.2 we did make some changes to Timer Record whereby of you were recording into a pre-saved project then on completion of a Timed Recording Audacity would (silently) resave the project for you. At the moment I think it much more likely that one or both of two other commits are responsible: ht...

Re: Variable tempo change?
What version of Audacity do you have? Does the pitch change with the tempo change? If so the most flexible tool is Time Tracks that works by using envelope points to mark the pitch/tempo change. Or in Audacity 2.1.2, Change Speed - also affecting both tempo and pitch - lets you set a speed change ba...
